Kids and toys?

mrjts

I have one daughter age of 7 and one step-son he is 10 and they both are always fighting over toys. how can I teach them to share?

Answer
1.Tell them about the poor kids who wish they had these toys!
2.Let them play with the toys at different times!
3.Take their toys away until they learn to share!
4.Show them how it feels when someone refuses to share with them
Example:Go buy something like a toy that both of them wants and say it yours and when they ask to play with it you say so you want me to share?( Then they are suppose to say yes)(they may not but if they do)!You say no im not sharing my toy! Then if they ask why then say becasue you guys dont know how to share! Then ask them how they felt when you said that you are not sharing your toy! Then say well thats how each of yall feel when yall dont share you make a person sad because ou wont share! If this doesnt work sorry with my kids it did!

Questions about aging kids and toys?

Ricky

Ive always had a lot of toys, and ive always been a "pack rat". When I started to get older I never threw out my toys, I just kept them put away in the attic or something.

But then my parents got annoyed with it all piling up (even though they knew I wasn't going to buy anymore)

Now I was looking at some stuff on ebay *hint* and eventually ended up looking up toys I used to have... (Mostly cause of the movie the 40 year old virgin) and saw that a lot of them I had are worth a good amount now...

So why do parents have to be cruel and make kids through away their toys instead of getting some money for them?

I could've had around $300 just from some of the things I looked at so far...

Answer
For one, parents don't think about the vintage value of them at the time (who knows what's going to be the toy that everyone wants twenty years later) and they take of valuable space.

What kinds of rewards do you offer your young children? How do you handle toy buying at age 6?

I am constantly told that I work my daughter too hard (at age 6). We were in the grocery store and my daughter was hounding me for a 3-D puzzle she saw and it was $10 for a tiny boxed puzzle. I told her to save up her quarters and her chore money to buy it. She had just spent $5 on a brand new floor puzzle and a new puzzle/ activity book at Goodwill (where she spends most of her money). I have her do household chores (she uses a little vacuum on her room, dusting, wiping counters, tidying up the house, helping me do laundry, and she earns about $5 a week. For good behavior at school and otherwise, she gets coins in her jar. Usually it adds up to about $5 a week on a good week. She works hard because she knows if she does, she'll EARN the things she wants. My daughter always sees things she wants in the store just like every other human being. Thing is- I don't buy it all for her. I've been told I'm a stick in the mud, "let the kid have fun", I've been told I'm too strict. I buy necessities (clothes, food) and things to help operate the toys she already has (batteries, AC adapters, etc). Her eyes light up at the store, and she always says "Mommy, I like this. Can I get it?" I don't get angry or annoyed, I just say "Did you bring your money with you?" When she doesn't, she gets a sad look on her face, and I always get nasty stares from fellow parents in the isle, and I'm wondering if I'm pushing her too hard. I let her be a kid and play, but she's next to me alot of the time doing something. How much is too much and how much do you buy for your kids (toys) on a normal basis (excluding holidays, birthdays)?

Answer
Whatever you are doing its really good as per me. You are reasonable in it. Your daughter will value money well. Also since he helps you in household work as well, she will be more mannered and gonna be well bring up child. Secondly, please don't think about people. There are different people with different perspective. Some will support you some will not. You cannot make everyone happy. So live your life as you want to. Think about your daughter it will definitely help her alot in future. In short, you should not care for people around you, at the end, she spent money paid by you only.

What are some toys that kids of all ages can play with?

B

What are some toys that kids ages 6-12 can play with together? There is also a 1 1/2 year old. Preferably something that can be played with outside and at least 4 or 5 kids can play with at a time or take turns playing. Something the 1 1/2 year old would enjoy too if you can possibly think of anything to fit with that age. We are already buying a slipping slide and sand toys. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Something that isn't very expensive either. Thanks.

I am looking for some toys that will keep my kids entertained and will last a long time. For kids ages 5-8. I am tired of buying my kids toys only to have them broken or torn up the same day. I am looking for toys that can really last and are fun. Any suggestions welcome!

I bought my little brothers Snap Circuits and they loved it (it can also be for girls). I got this one because it's pretty stimulating and versatile. Their reviews on Amazon are just unbelievable too, I've never seen so many reviews and still have a 5/5 stars... The only thing though, is that you have to teach your kids to make sure to put things away properly, which can be a good exercise for them for their skills anyway.

Another game that is super popular is the Qwirkle Board Game. Since you have a couple of kids, it's a great board game for everyone to partake in. May be it gets a little challenging for the younger ones but it's a great stimulating game that will help your kids' critical thinking and analytical skills (just like the circuits game). On top of that, the parts of this game are pretty durable.

Another of the newer games out there that's pretty popular among people of all ages is the Angry Birds game. It's just like the one you play on your phone but you get to set it up so it's a lot more fun. This one also has amazing reviews.

Is it for a birthday party?
- Order a jump n fun.
- Order pizza.
- Make sure theres food!
- Movies and music. The big m's.
- A pool is always fun(: So is a trampoline(with a net would be nice).
- Play sports like soccer, volleyball, badminton, basketball etc.
- Do things outside. Water guns. Water balloons. They'll take care of it.

How do you get a dog to stop chewing?

I have a year old choc lab and she chews EVERYTHING! She constantly has diarhia from everything she eats and her teeth are in bad shape and lastly, the kids toys and stuffed animals are all torn up! I understand that labs are hyper till around the age of two, but she is out of control! She goes on a walk everyday and my oldest is always playing with her whenever he has time. I also need to learn how to teach a dog to come?

Answer
Hey there :)

I have a lab of my own, and I know how clumsy and hyper they can be.
You could purchase safe, durable toys and chews for puppies to chew on while they are still teething. You can, also freeze certain fruits and vegetables to help alleviate the pain.
But you should NOT buy those fake-bones things, as they tear up the dogs teeth.

I have learned that as labs love to eat, they will do ANYTHING for food, which helps alot to train them.

I suggest that whenever the dog starts to go after whatever you don't want it to chew, you say "Leave it" also make noises and tell it to stop, also encourage her to chew the toys you give her. Sometimes it helps it you grab her snout while saying "Drop it".

To teach them to come, you have to first teach them to sit and stay. You should get a treat (Cheese works best for labs, its healthy and cheap) say "sit" then hold the cheese in a fist over her head.

After she has learned to sit, you can teach her to stay and then come. First, after shes sat, hold the treat in a fist in the air, then stick your palm in front of her and repeat "stay" over and over as you back up. Go slowly at first, and be patient, she'll learn. Once you backed up enough, say "come" as soon as she gets to you, make her sit, then give her the treat, much love and reward.

Remember to be patient, over time they become easier, and hopefully this helps. :) (sorry if my punctuation is terrible, im 13 and terrible at punctuating.)
