best toys for kids in hospital image
L.E.
I have a grade 10 class and need ideas about what to do to help the community. So far we've thought of creating a "toy drive" or going to visit kids at a hospital.
*Note: The class budget is $0 so all the money (if any) shall come out of the kids' pockets.
Answer
In warmer weather, you could clean up trash.
What about re-cycling; does your community participate?
You could encourage composting, especially vermiculture.
How about collecting winter coats, hats, mitts, & scarves?
Either getting people to knit them, or work with dry cleaners.
How about a food drive for Thanksgiving or Christmas?
If you collect toys for hospitals, you need a way to sterilize.

Where can I get a bunch of stuffed animals cheap?
The Mystir
Me and my grandma are making care packages for kids in hospitals, and we and to put in them 3 things:
crayons
a coloring book
and a stuffed animal.
Where can I get those three things for cheap?
I live close to Alton Illinois, right across the river from St. Louis.
So we could save money, and we need to make about over 150 baskets, where can I get those for really cheap?
We wanna do it for Christmas.
Thanks!
Answer
Either dollar stores, thrift stores (make sure they are clean, often they are new) or you could approach a retailer, explain what you are doing (bring some samples and outline of where they are going) and ask for a discount, some donations. You could also contact the makers of stuffed toys and explain what you are doing and ask for a volume discount and if they have 'irregulars' they would donate. ]
