best kids toys 4 year old image

My 4 year old son is really shy around other children at school. It seems that every time I pick him up he is either playing alone or with one of his teachers but not with the other kids.
Anyone have any tips or good ideas that might help him open up and be a little more outgoing and less shy???
Answer
set up play dates at your house, hopefully with a couple kids from his school. I'm sure he is much more outgoing at home so if he plays with a friend or two at his house, with his toys, on his "turf" he will likely start being more outgoing with these same kids at school.

What would you do if head start teacher had a problem with your 4 year old?

My son is 4 years old,he is delayed in his speech and is going to be evaluated from a psychiatrist later this month. My son is enrolled in homebased head start and early intervention preschool program.
There is so much to say I don't even know where to start. Basicly my sons head start teacher has a problem with him. From the way he talks, does his school work to the way he acts. When she is here at my house I catch her getting mad at him all because he rather play then give her the right answer to the question she is asking him for example of today she drew a triangle ask him what it was,and he kept saying circle, square, rectangle then smiled and said triangle. That made her mad... He goes to the center every other friday and every single time he goes I get nothing but complaints about him,it has got me to the point where my nervs are acting up and feel like taking him out of head start. I talked to the manager if you will today and she is going to talk to the teacher about this and involve the mental health and moniter the room herself as well,I'm thinking about calling them back tomorrow to ask for a new teacher if they can do that.
They are complaining about him hitting, throwing, bitting, and not following directions. Whenever I'm in the class to see how he is like I notice they don't pay attention to him,and the way his teacher treats him is just rediculous, I feel like telling that you can not put a 4 year old child in an adult setting and expect them to know what to do and how to act...
At his other preschool he is fine I mean yeah sometimes they report issues to me with him hitting his friend because he friend hit him,hit bit his friend because that same friend hit him, sharing issues, taking other childrens toys, not sitting in circle time, and him moving from toy to toy very quickly.
I noticed that whenever he's hungry tired or not feeling well he acts up more. But when he's not he has a good day. But with head start however they always find something to ***** about and am getting very upset about it...
Btw we do magic 123 at home and have some issues like the sharing, and every now and then hitting, but he's not this bad kid..

Well, it certainly sounds as if there may be an issue with his "home" teacher (if you're going to work with pre-school kids at all, you have to have patience), but I would advise you to be patient and allow the manager to observe the classroom so that she can see if there is a problem there.
We all know kids don't always behave, and sometimes they need 'reminders', but if your child is hitting, throwing, biting, etc on a regular basis then there's a big problem and it will have to be dealt with as he cannot continue to behave that way. Not to mention the fact that it's unreasonable to think that the other kids in the classroom should have to put up with that (if I had a child in the classroom, I'd probably be complaining, and I'd have a valid reason to complain).
Why are you taking him to a psychiatrist about a speech delay problem? He should be seeing his doctor, and then possible moving to a speech therapist if needed. However, he may need to see a psychiatrist about these other issues.
