best learning gadgets for kids image

Did it work? My son is having his 3rd birthday and I just realized he has every toy and gadget a kid could possibly want or need and he totally destroys everything. Throwing things, unloading his whole room onto the floor then walking away just because he feels like it, he breaks something then he cries he wants a new one (and I say Heck no! You Shouldn't have broke it) but he's getting so spoiled! Is he too young for me to make him take all his things to goodwill and leave him with a book and 2 toys? Can he even grasp that concept this young?
Answer
He's to young to learn any lessons.
He seems to be bored and over stimulated from too many toys
When he is not around, take a garbage bag and throw out any broken or dangerous toys.
Next get a box and pick out toys to give away or donate. Choose toys that are too baby ish or the ones you know he will never play with, or the ones he has doubles of triples of. If there are new toys you know he will not care for, give those away too. Purge your stuffed animals. Toy cars tend to plié up too.
Now, you should be left with the stuff you want to keep and the stuff you know he likes.
Now divide the stuff into:
music toys
Building block/construction
Cars and trucks
Dolls and action figures
Board games
Books
Toy tools
Balls
etc etc.
Now divide each category into three piles
eg
music toys: pile 1, pile two and pile 3.
Building block/construction: pile 1, pile two and pile 3.
Now take all pile 1s and put in a large container.
Take all pile 2's and put in a large container. put into storage.
Keep pile 3 in his room. This way he has less toys, but has a wide variety of different types of toys..
Get shelves and bins and baskets and label them using the above categories and put the pile 3 toys in his room.
In 3 moths, you can put pile 3 away and pull out the pile 2s.
Of course don't pack away a toy you know he really likes and similarly, get rid of any toy you know he is fed up of.
This way if he breaks a toy, he's stuck with broken toys for a while and might be inclined to treat them better. Also get a large clear bin, but it high in the kitchen where he can see it, and tell him any toys not treated or packed away and the entire category ( eg all cars) will be taken away for a week.
