best kids toys 5 year old image
Ryan
I recently started watching a 4 year old and 3 year old for my friend who just started a job and is going through a rough time with her ex. She just moved as well, and the boys are going through a lot of transitions. I watch them from 8-5 on the week days along with my 5 year old and 3 year old. The 3 year old son of my friend is awesome, quiet, sweet, a good playmate.
The four year old cusses frequently. Using the f word, s word, etc. My daughter wouldn't give him her toy right away and he screamed at her calling her a F-ing B word. She told him he couldn't be the king, and he threatened to "choke her to death". When he's not upset he's fine, and funny, and not a terrible kid. But if he doesn't get his way, he calls the younger boys F-ing bullies.
We immediately put him in timeout and talk to him about what he does, but he honestly acts like he could care less. I honestly don't know what to do. I want to help my friend out, but that's a little much. This boy is starting kindergarten soon- and if he continues he will be kicked out, right?
I want to help my friend. Because I don't know what else she would be able to do with him. I think being around me and my kids has helped and will help him, I just have to put my kids first.
So what would you do?
Do you think anything is wrong with him for him to be saying these things? ( I haven't never heard anything like this from a kid ever)
Answer
You gotta love parents like those people, I deeply sadden for all the kids who were raised by such horrible parents. This kid is obviously having troubles at homes and learning that type of language could only come from the parents, I don't assume about people a lot, but there are far too many cases about troubling kids and the overwhelming majority of those childrens learned that type of behavior from their parents.
But kids are easily changed, have a chat with the troubling children but make sure that you keep it at an eye level so you don't seem to be dominating them which is a bad thing. Tell him or her that treating people that way is hurting others and that is a bad thing to do. Also tell the kid to express his or her feelings in a different way which is by telling others how they feel and not cuss or threatens people.
