My son is 8 months we are getting ready to buy our first home we have always lived in apartments and never had a yard , what are good toys that a 1 year old will love to play outside with? He will be one in may his dad is building him a big wooden swing set for his birthday , what else ? We are thinking of getting a pool since he loves water. What about a sprinkler? Any personal experiences will be very much appreciated

Answer
Small trampeline, bounce house, pools. I think little tikes has a mud pie table which the kids like. Outdoor kitchens and grill, sandbox, and of course the swing set will be a lot of fun. Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, if you get a dog playing with the baby and dog in the yard. Tball (little tikes set comes with stand and ball), the other big bouncy balls at Wal Mart. Basketball hoop and ball (once again, little tikes I believe). I have also seen lawnmowers that blow bubbles and kids gardening tool sets. See saw, tricycles (radio flyer has some nice ones for the younger ones), battery powered ride on toys, slides, clubhouse. The list goes on and on.

My daughter probably likes the sidewalk chalk, pool, and sandbox the best. She loves playing with her dog inside/outside no matter what the season is.

What are some activities i can do with these kids?

I'm 14 so i can't drive anywhere or go far.
The kids are 3 and 4 and 7
They sometimes dont get along but if they have something fun to do then they will
so what are some activites they can do mostly inside?
no cooking and no puzzle things becus they dont have puzzles and with 3 kids they dont need to cook.
OKay i dont have puzzles either.....i am responsible.

Answer
They can help you cook, if you are allowed to do so yourself. They can figure out how many pieces of bread you need to make everyone a sandwhich, they can mix ingredients together, etc. If there are cookie cutters available you can cut the sandwhiches into fun shapes, make fun cookies, etc. Have a picnic outside, or even inside on the kitchen floor.

If you do not have puzzles, make some. You can use photos out of old magazines or even print some (of the children or their favorite animal, etc.) and then cut them.

Arts and crafts- even if it is just stringing Fruit Loops, macaroni art, Play Doh or crayons and paper.

music-Turn on some music- preferably children's music- and sing/dance. You can also play with musical instruments (either real ones, toy ones or ones you create yourself.

Outside- bubbles, sidewalk chalk, hula hoops, sprinkler, ball, etc.

If it is available, pop popcorn and watch a cartoon or movie- maybe even old home movies.

Simon Says, I Spy, etc.

Board games such as Memory, Chutes and Ladders, etc.

Read to them. If there are no books available, tell them storires.

Blocks, cars, dolls- engage them with their toys.
