Our group are hosting a Spring Fling Festival for children under 6 years old. It'll be at daycare center and we want to plan some games and activities for little kids to do. What's some event we could do and that are not expensive?

Answer
Hmm you can put some really long paper on the wall and let the kids to paint on it

Answer
make giant butterflies! :) I done this with the children who I worked with in reception class of a school and they loved it. We found the instructions online, unfortunately I'm not able to find and link it to you as I don't have a laptop atm, just my mobile.. But the basics of it are that you get lots of news paper, put a few sheets together, then fold into triangles for wings, then staple up one side and leave the other open, repeat with a second wing, and do the same for the body but in a roll shape, remember to leave one side un stapled. You can then get the children involved scrunching up lots of news paper balls which they can then stuff the butterfly wings and body with, once that's completed you staple up the other sides. The children then can paint and decorate the pieces. Leave to dry then assemble the parts. :) you could also make paper flowers using sticks (you could even do a nature trail and get the children to identify flowers and plants on an activity sheet for inspiration, and collect twigs on the way) and use coloured tissue which can be cut into circles, fold into a semi circle then fold again, then creatively chop around the edges (crinkle scissors are good for this) make very small cut at the point of the folded circle, and finally feed the stick or twig in the hole, and tie the in place flower with glittery string or glue it. You can also do baking, make chocolate birds nests out of shreaded wheat and melted chocolate and get some little toy easter chicks or mini choc eggs to place in them. Of course you need to take account of any dietry requirements of the children. :)
