My kids have never had one and we are finally financially well enough to get them each one. I am struggling to find one that my daughter will fit. She is only 40lbs at the moment but she is 3ft 10in. She is quite tall. If you could help me find one for her that would be great.

The Jeep Hurricane is a good Power Wheels ride on toy, but it is definitely not the "best of the Power Wheels" line of ride on toys. The Cadillac Escalade will give you more bang for your buck.
The biggest problem with the Jeep Hurricane is that allthough it advertises as an "off road" vehicle, gravel and dirt really wears on the tires. After only 5 or 6 rides, the tires will start to crack and get holes in them if you are riding it off road. If you plan to only use it for street riding (sidewalks, driveways, etc), then it will be fine. If you plan on running it over dirt, mud, and grass, you will be replacing the tires on a regular basis.

I am also talking about some negative effects like on their self esteem too.
What are some toys that can harm a child's self esteem or way of thinking?

Toys can be positive/negative. Violent toys don't necessarily mean violent kids. And cerebral toys don't equate to baby geniuses. The best toys:
Challenge
Exercise
Entice
Entertain
Invoke curiosity
Fuel creativity.
That said, a cardboard box can be an effective toy, even though it's just a box (ala Calvin and Hobbes). From my perspective get the kids started early on game-based toys, ones that require partnerships and mutual enjoyment with others (sharing). Those little toy computers are great, but instead of teaching a kid about a frog I'd rather show them a frog. My favorite toys that fall into one more of the above categories Lego's and other builder toys like erector, Lincoln logs etc. Stalagmite water rocks, those sponges that unfurl, water guns. For the younger kids, that new sitting ride thing that powers the television, that's just cool and unique in that it performs in nearly every category. Video games are pointless for an eight year old.
Most of the better toys aren't found in your local Wal-Mart, they require some shopping. Toys like bratz, Barbie..etc create a false impression of what an ideal woman should be. Either she is an eight foot tall plastic surgery expert with dyed hair or she is trailer trash. not much in the in between. American girls promote a semblance of learning and try to stay away from overly sexual clothing. Most toys are movie promotions or actor/singer promotion. Does the hannah Montana doll increase girls desire to watch the show or does the show increase the purchasing of the doll? Those toys also setup some unhealthy expectations, it's just the princess motif from generations back with a new facade
