Q. Hi, I'll be in london in a few days, and I'd like to visit some gadget stores in oxford street area. Doesn't have to be on the street it self, I mean something in walking distance of the street. so anyone know about this kind of stores?
Already know about the ones in no. 190 and in no. 400 of oxford street.
Thanks a lot.
Well, When I first asked this question, I stated I want stuff like those in thinkgeek.com, but I realized no one will answer... someone did but he's just one guy... so I dropped the "like those in thinkgeek.com" part. so if somebody knows about this kind of store with this kind of stuff.... please let me know.
Thanks, anyone know about another stores?

Answer
When you say gadgets.. what type? Because we have a lot of shops that do gadgets but if you can narrow it down to type you will find better results. Camera? Computers? Or household?
Curries, Maplin, PC world, Argos, Morgan, HMV (computer tech, IT, Camera, Printer, music gadgets etc etc etc Argos do everything from household gadgets, to PC gadgets to games, toys and Xbox!))
Many more along that area that are not chains such as Morgans, and is a case of walking along and going in or going down google maps the full length and breadth of Oxford Street and Tottenham court road! But I have listed the main chain brands.
Jessops (camera gadgets and cameras/printers/photo)
Robert Dias ( household gadgets and items)
Argos is the main household one stop shop for..well everything from baby cribs to routers and modems and laptops!..so it depends on what type of gadgets you want????
London has so many shops, so you really do need to narrow down what exactly it IS you want to buy lol
It's like asking WHAT shops sell bread? Answer: ANY shop that sells food! ;0)
Do you want French bread? speciality bread? expensive or cheap bread? Not fussed?
Answer depends on what it is you want and if it's just bread, go into ANY shop in ANY high street and buy bread ;0)
EDIT: ok I looked briefly at thinkgeek. Argos has little things like that..the sci/fi tshrts and figurines no, but..wait for it..Forbidden Planet will! PMSL. The science museum shop would be a really good place to get things like that although may be a bit expensive.. if it's for kids, any kids toy shop or place like Hamleys Or John Lewis/Debenhams and the *early learning centre* will have the more *science learn and play items. In fact Debenhams and JohnLewis places may well have them for adults as well. I have seen them BUT *gadgets* are normally brought out for xmas but you can check anyway!
Both Debenhams,Hamleys and John Lewis/Peter Jones have shops near or on Oxford Street!
Argos would have the more office based gadgets for adults and may have some for kids in the toy section..Argos, Debenhams and John Lewis/Peter Jones can all be found online so you can have a look before going into the shops!
Does that help :0)??
