My son who will turn 4 in May 2012 has been potty trained since he was 2 . Since he realized I was pregnant with my 2 nd child he has been having more and more accidents. At the beginning we used the star system for everytime he did in the toilet but then after a while it stopped working. A couple of month ago I started putting him in the naughty chair everytime he had an accident but now the accidents are increasing in frequency especially since the baby was born in October 2011. Today I told him that since he is acting like a baby I will start removing all the big boy's toys until he starts going to the toilet regularly... R we doing the right thing?

Answer
He is not doing it to misbehave, punishing him makes no sense.

He is not 4 yet, yet you seem to classify him as 4..the is a huge difference between a boy who is 3 and 4.Even months apart.
he is feeling threatened by the new baby.
You need to see it in his view, not yours.
Try giving him more time alone with you, special time..Always let him know he is so loved by you.

Taking away his toys is not the answer either. He can not help what is happening. Anxiety does that

Why does my 3 year old destroy things and has sticky fingers?

Rest In Pe

Hi im a mom to a 3 year old boy well for some reason my sonr loves to rip up and destroy things even things that's not his. I don't buy my son a coloring books no more or crayons or puzzles for toddlers because all he does to it ise rips it up and destroys them. I gets calls from teacher that he destroys things there as well. He brakes crayons I can't wven goi to the bathroom in my own home with out somthing being destroyed or cook or even clean. I have to take him every where I go in the apartment even if I gotta pee. Like today I went to go pee and I came back and he climb one the computer desk and took the callender off the wall and rip up my new 2012 callender I just got. He will even go and drag every things out of trash can. And his dresser in his room I have it faceing the wall so he wonted get into it and drage every pice of clothing out witch he has all ready done before when I would put him to bed at night. He has been like this every since he was a year and a half years old. Telling him no dont work he just does it again and again time outs don't work nether i can keep on trying putting him in time out for 3 hours and still can't get him to stay. Smaking hands don't work either he still keep one doing it not matter how many time you smake hands. If I goi pee or cook I have to taken him with me or he will climb one my end table and get in the mail thing hanging on the wall and rip up bills. I can't ask him why he rips up things cause he can't talk yet. He can't be borad he has three toy boxes fill with toys. My question is are all 3 year old like this how do I stop this?

Answer
He is 3 years old and he cant talk yet? I think that's your bigger concern right there. He is old enough to be able to talk and communicate. If not, you might want to get him checked out.
