best kids spy toys image

We generally paint, bake, play with plasticine, do puzzles or word find books. Just wondering what you do with your kids, because sometimes it's a bit of struggle to think up new activities.

I do some of the things you mentioned plus a few more. One day we made Playdoh. It was very messy but they had a lot of fun. Here's a website that shows a few different ways to do it:

We play I Spy, turn on the radio and dance, sing, play games together on the computer. There's also a great website for that if you have younger kids. It has several games and printable activities.

We build castles out of Lego blocks, play with cars, dolls and all of their other toys. They don't get bored as fast if my husband or I play with them. We use our imaginations also. We play Dr. with stuffed animals and baby dolls, play boat, shark or alligator by putting a blanket in the floor and pretending that it is the boat. One person is the shark or whatever you choose and tries to grab the other players. Whoever gets tagged then turns into the animal.
There is also a lot of craft ideas on the internet and in local stores.

Answer
Coloring books and crayons normally work like a charm...
Little kid movies or shows (dora, seseme street, nick jr.) normally help.
The older children might like to make crafts and things so dig out your popcicle sticks, beads, strings, glitter and glue and see if they want to make something for their parents to put in their flower pots or something.
Play games with them, hide-n-seek is normally a fun one, although if your house isn't child proof it's probably not too good of an idea. I Spy is fun for kids of all ages and they normally get really into it.
You could get a few stuffed animals and old toys, hide them around the house and send them on a "treasure hunt", but this is sort of the same as the hide-n-seek thing, don't do it if your place isn't baby proof.
Make cookies with them, that's always fun. I'm almost 18 and I still love making cookies.
As for the really little kids just make a goof of yourself, they normally like that :) Sing to them and see if all the kids want to have a "really fun dance party" and get some little kid songs to dance around the house to.
good luck :)
and don't forget to have fun!
