Who else is scared about the generation of kids today?

Q. I mean kids are getting more ignorant. Myspace, internet, clothes, music, celebreties, and many other frivolous things are what most kids talk about these days. At school (I am 13 in 7th grade by the way) I talk to some of the kids near me. Some of them think that America is at war WITH Iraq, some think that America is bombing Isreal, they don't know what Communism is, they don't know what terrorists are. I can go on. Kids are also getting more lazier. A lot of the kids in my class are doing bad in class, not doing work, and even FAILING. I look at the kids today and think "these are our future leaders?"

A. I'm not scared. I think kids these days are pretty savvy. You grew up with computers and all the electronic and tech gadgets that some of us never thought could exist when we were your age.

I wouldn't expect all 13 year olds to care about Politics or to know what's going on in the world. Lots of kids that age are still pretty self-centered. In my opinion, they still have time to be kids. They'll have enough time to deal with the problems of the world in a few more years.

And you know what? There are still many adults who think America is at war with Iraq, who think Iraq was responsible for 9/11, who don't understand the complicated relationship the US has with Israel, etc.. There are also LOTS of adults who are pretty lazy, who don't take work seriously, and who are intellectually lazy. Heck the president of the US was pretty much a goof-off in college, and look where he is now.

And guess what? Some of us adults also love clothes, music, MySpace, the internet, sports figures, etc. It's part of having a well-rounded life. You can be politically savvy, but it's good to be culturally and socially savvy too, so you will know how to relate to more people when the time comes.

It's very important to learn about the world and to be serious about school work and your future. It's also important to have fun and enjoy other things. The leaders of the world were kids once too, and all of them didn't know the status of the world at that point either. It's good to know that you think about the future, but don't be too hard on your peers. They'll come around. Have faith!

Why are they advertising life insurance and sell-gold commercials on kids' cartoons?
Q. I'm watching He-Man and She-Ra cartoons on the RTV network (Detroit channel 7.2) right now, and I watch "Heathcliff" and "Inspector Gadget" on the THIS-TV network (Detroit channel 4.2) every weekday morning before school. Why do they advertise life insurance, sell-gold-for-cash, and other junk that kids would have no interest in? What ever happened to toys, cereal, and McDonalds commercials during cartoons?

A. Lots of adults watch cartoons for various reasons, and it's the adults the advertisers need to connect with because they're the ones with any money. (Or a lack of money in the case of sell-gold commercials - that's also why they advertise tech schools and whatnot at that time.)

At least they're not advertising Cialis.

Is it appropiate for kids to have laptops a sidekick iPod practicly every hi tech gadget that comes out?
Q. if they are like 7 8 9 10 years old

A. It depends on the age of the kid and how much they use it. Since we are in the information age it is good for them to be familiar with the hi-tech gadgets out there. I let my kids us laptops and other gadgets within limits. There is a time and a place. The older kids will need to use some of these things more for school. I also balance it with making them go outside and play. I also make sure they eat well. Like anything it involves balance.

How come couples need two paychecks when in the 60s they didn't?

Q. Regarding the whole daycare debate, women always argue that they can't afford to stay at home because they need two paychecks...which is true. But why is it that prior to about the 1970s or so most families got by fine with only the father working? What changed in the economy or society to demand that the vast majority of families have two wage-earners?

A. The income distribution has changed, Average real (inflation adjusted) wages for men in non supervisory jobs peaked in the 1970's and has only wobbled around since then. What increases in total compensation there has been was eaten up by the cost of benefits, especially employer provided heath insurance. However the wages of the top 20% of earner have increased substantially and they they determine peoples expectations of what constitutes the "good" life. Houses are now bigger filled with more gadgets, families have two cars instead of one, more people send their kids to college, heath care can do more to make you healthy so we buy more of it, etc. To fill the gap between expectation and incomes wives went to work. And since now the majority of families have two earner, this standard of living has become the new normal.

However during this period the real GDP per worker has increased buy more that 50% because of increases in average productivity, and if the current national income were distributed the way it was in the 1970's the median income would be amount $10.000 more per year. The high earning tech worker and professionals got their share of the extra income, but the top 1% who earn over $300,000 a year increased their share of income from about 11% to 24% and much ot that went to the very hing income group, the top 1/10 % now earn over 1.2 million a year some of them getting 100's of millions.

see http://www.visualizingeconomics.com/2010/12/29/highest-paying-jobs-in-the-us-2005-2/

Edut. Changes in the tax laws are also partly responsible for the increase in the number of mothers of young children who work. In order to work they must pay someone to care for their children, so the look at marginal tax rates on the additional income and cost of child care, to decide whether working is worth it. In the 1960's there was no deduction for child care expenses and the tax rates for married couples were not much different than for singles

Why is or now was Jake Locker the top QB prospect in th 2010 NFL draft?
Q. I dont understand how he is the top player when he never went to a bowl game, national championship game, no college awards, not involved in the heisman race. I didn't even know who he was until yesterday on ESPN.

A. It is called tools. He has the best set of tools such as arm strength, mechanics, ability to read progressions, footwork, pocket presence, etc, etc. etc.. Did you know who Matt Ryan was before he became the 3rd overall pick a couple years ago? He won pretty much the same pile of awards as Locker. Or how about Joe Flacco? He went 18th overall and never even played on a national tv game let lone win any awards. But I bet you have heard of Troy Smith who won a Heisman and 7 other major awards and played in a National Championship game. He also went as the last pick in the 5th round...behind 8 other QBs including such notables as Jeff Rowe (Nevada) and was so bad in camp that the Ravens traded up to pick Flacco the very next year. Graham Harrell was a Heisman candidate and record setting QB, challenged for and won several awards and went undrafted (he has gracefully landing in the CFL....as a backup). The NFL is a tools game and most of the kids who compete for major awards play for dominating schools where the talent at every position is usually better than the opponent...that usually makes ones resuts inflated. Or they play in gadget offenses (spread) where they utilize the talent differentual to their advantage....wont work in the NFL as has been proven time after time. Jake Locker offered the best set of tools to be a top player in the NFL. He also announced he will return for his senior year so none of this really matters anymore. Jimmy Clausen has not done any of the major award stuff either but is now widely considered the best prospect coming out by all the scouting bureau's (and most of the so called draft experts).....he has the tools scouts look for.

What have been your favorite movies of 2010?
Q. Any genre, any language...

What makes the list of the best in 2010 for you?

A. Alice in Wonderland14.
This curious 3-D adaptation proved to be the perfect fit for visionary director Tim Burton, who once again captured solid performances from Johnny Depp (hilarious as the Mad Hatter) and Helena Bonham Carter (deliciously chilling as the Red Queen), as well as newcomer Mia Wasikowska, also seen in this summer's 'The Kids Are All Right.' And with its eye-popping visuals and clever take on Lewis Carroll's novel, it's no wonder Burton's 'Alice' has grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

The Other Guys13.
After a couple of hiccups, Will Ferrell returns to fine form in this hilarious buddy-cop comedy opposite Mark Wahlberg. The film ranks among Ferrell's best collaborations with director Adam McKay ('Talladega Nights,' 'Anchorman'), and has enough laughs and surprises to keep audiences satisfied well past its awesome end credits. Best of all: It's even better a second time.

Splice11.
Not quite horror, not quite sci-fi and not quite romance, this movie manages to transcend genre. Full of suspense, laughs and shocking moments, 'Splice' isn't afraid to ask the difficult moral questions that most movies seek to avoid.

Kick-Ass9.
The box office for this comic action flick never lived up to the fanboys' hype, maybe because watching 11-year-old Hit Girl (the eye-opening Chloe Moretz) efficiently (and heroically) slay people wasn't everyone's cup of tea. But for those who took the violence for what it was -- a deliberately exaggerated part of the film's comic-book world -- 'Kick-Ass' was every adolescent's fantasies come to life and made awesome. In short, it kicked ... well, you know.

Despicable Me8. '
This colorful animated flick is filled with plenty of slapstick gags, clever gadgets, quirky spy humor and great voiceover work from funnyman Steve Carell. It also features the weirdest-looking minions, whose goofy antics steal the whole show.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World6. '
Based on the popular comic book, this cult film, about a teen (Michael Cera) who must defeat seven men to win the heart of his crush, was clearly made for the videogame crowd. But don't let its hipster style fool you: At its core, 'Scott Pilgrim' is a fun action movie that appeals to a much wider audience than one might expect. (Like these beloved movies, perhaps it'll find a better audience outside the theater?)

The Kids Are All Right5.
In a season of epic blockbusters and sequels, this little indie that could, about the children of lesbian parents who track down their sperm-donor father, stood out as one of the summer's best films, thanks to excellent direction, writing and acting, especially from the sure-to-be-Oscar-nominated Annette Bening, in her best performance since 'American Beauty.' The kids may be 'All Right,' but this hilarious and touching comedy is superb.

The Secret in Their Eyes4.
This Argentinean masterpiece (an Academy Award winner for Best Foreign-Language Film) follows a retired criminal court investigator as he revisits a 25-year-old unresolved murder case. It's a stunning tour-de-force that explores the depths of human emotions -- love, fear, loneliness, yearning, hate -- disguised as a police procedural mystery that effortlessly juggles romance, comedy, suspense and political commentary.

How to Train Your Dragon3.
A heart-warming story about a boy and his dragon, 'How to Train Your Dragon,' about a Viking teenager (Jay Baruchel) who befriends his dragon, is a genuinely emotional film that features lots of exciting and dazzling adventure sequences. Better yet: Unlike so many films released this year, its 3-D is actually worth the extra price of admission.

Inception2.
From the great mind of director Christopher Nolan, 'Inception' was arguably the most talked about and revisited film of the summer, thanks to its twists, turns and much-debated cliffhanger ending. With a dream cast that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Tom Hardy, this box-office smash had audiences thinking and debating in a season normally reserved for mindless entertainment. The ending may still be up for debate, but 'Inception' is the real deal.

Toy Story 31.
With expectations higher than 'Avatar's' box office, it seemed impossible for 'Toy Story 3' to live up to its predecessors. But leave it to Pixar to craft a threequel that is every bit as good as 'Toy Story' 1 and 2 -- a joyous, entertaining and heartwarming film that will make you laugh as much as it will make you cry. Once again, Pixar went to infinity, and beyond our expectations, and in doing so, created the best film of the year so far.

WTF? If its a cupcake or cookie and looks like a gun - its a gun now?

Q. Today I read about the 3rd grader who's birthday cupcakes were confiscated by the school because mom had put little plastic toy soldiers on top, and, a totally different story about another elementary school grader who had his breakfast taken away by school officials because his pancake dad had put in his breakfast was shaped like a gun.

The cupcake school principal was quoted as saying it was disrespectful to the memory of Sandy Hook to have toy soldiers on the cupcakes, and, it violated the schools zero tollerance policy against guns. As if confiscating a 3rd graders birthday cupcakes isnt going to cause him any issues from that, huh?

How do you feel? Are these school principals and teachers doing a fantastic job protecting our kids or what?
My First question - when did the 'Gun Free Zone' legally become the 'Gun Image, Representation, Effigy, and Likeness Free Zone'? Did someone pass a law I missed?

Second - do you think the action of taking these things away, pancakes and cupcakes, is more traumatic than the guns they represent?

And last - are we at the point were sane gun owners need to have a conversation with out local mayors, city counsels, and school boards about this kind of behavior and how to put a stop to it........... or do we give these liberals a little bit more rope to hang themselves?

Are at the point

A. In Maryland, where the boy bit his Pop Tart into the shape of a gun and got in trouble, one of the Republican lawmakers has proposed a bill that would not only stop administrators from punishing students engaged in innocent play (like the kid who threw the imaginary grenade while he was pretending to save the world), but would also punish administrators who attempt to punish these children.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/03/09/maryland-lawmaker-introduces-bill-after-pastry-gun-suspension/

I figure that should be the law across the country.

EDIT: Oh, and Truman, I noticed that you blocked me. I would expect that out of someone who doesn't comprehend the difference between a conservative and a liberal, and who thinks that there were Colt 1911s made before 1900.

Can you please C/C: “Napoleon, May I have this Dance?” (with picture!)?
Q. Can you please C/C: “Napoleon, May I have this Dance?” (with picture!)
BQ: Has the boy conquered or met his Waterloo - based on picture???

Napoleon got into the minivan
and pondered the conquest plans
Sat by himself in the fourth row of seats by the tailgate
Strategy, tactics, boldness to determine his fate

His driver Carole like him with skin fair
and reddish blondish hair
She was 36 years older – so they are not sister and brother
Clearly some category “other”

She asked, “Still sure you want to go?”
“We can skip this – lay low.”
He said, “The time of conquest is at hand.”
“Drive us to the battle land.”

They went on Ocean Drive
In ten minutes they would arrive
He looked at the dying embers of the sun
Quenched in the cool Pacific from another day on the run

Through Santa Barbara then to the hills
The upcoming battle sent him a chill
She said, “There is the matter of your ...um um size.”
He replied, “Yes, my stature is small – but I am planning a surprise.”

She opened the door for the conqueror short
He had for her a retort
“From me stay far.”
“This I do alone; perhaps stay here and look at the stars.”

Napoleon entered the room
Quickly surveyed; eyes went to zoom
Into his shirt he tucked his hand
and marched forward to the music of the band

Loudly banged his feet on the wooden planks
A reverberation was their thanks
Yes, he was very small
He entered a world quite tall

All eyes looked down upon the boy
Like he was not real – just a toy
For he was only in grade four
Some wanted to show him the door

There was no rule he could not be at the dance
Tonight he would take a chance
Everyone else was grades seven and eight
But if not now – when will he meet his fate?

First he would conquer Japan
Part of his global conquest plan
“Sakaguchi-san, let us dance,” said he as he bowed down low
She bowed back and he took her in tow

They had a nice dance –
they were put into a trance
Then it seemed like the girls did not care how high he did tower
There was another factor confidence and power

There was a line a mile long
To their dates the girls did say so long
He could spend only two minutes with each one
That night he had a lot of fun

His driver, his mother, a photo did shoot
A way to make memory moot
But look carefully at Napoleon – he is maybe not so cool
Perhaps this night he met his Waterloo

Perhaps he was overhugged
Bordering on being mugged
The lesson he learned if girls you want to dance with and meet
It pays to be adorable, cute, and sweet

Bonus Question: What does BQ mean??

A. Soc the #1 Chemist

First of you your young pic "Hurry up, I gotta pee" :>> nice looking young sap..jk...you are smart manly man.

I never figured this out...on the top with your question, what does BQ mean? Thanks
_______________________

This is a very endearing poem Soc. I have told you before, and to me
your best quality is your story-telling ability and an interesting poem
considering we are not dealing 'yet' with international espionage !

You do a good job with your rhyme skills, and pull off good near rhymes
as well.

Had a thought on S7, L4, perhaps would work
with just "and marched to the music of the band"

You have two words basically saying the same thing,
could probably delete 'forward' - though, I do realize
in this hazardos occupation there are sideways and
backwards but only one frog-march.

Napoleon entered the room
Quickly surveyed; eyes went to zoom
Into his shirt he tucked his hand
and marched forward to the music of the band
(S7 by Soc Chem)

The weakness I see is the flow of the poem >>> the longer sentences
can be reigned in to create a better flowing poem, and still maintain
your story type talents >>>> of course, I know you by now and you
are going to leave it just as is. I guess it is good to be confident in
ones work, and you have to discern any c.c. you get, but I hope you
at least consider some of what I say. The other thing is anything
over 10 stanzas I think you might lose your audience. I read it all
and liked it, but I do think you could contain to story to within 10
for the big men.

Good story-good poem, well conceived and delivered with enthusiasm.

yf

Congrats

Is it normal to feel this way? Or do I need professional help?

Q. Hello, I'm a 14 year old girl and I would like if someone could help me. I feel so empty like there is nothing inside of me. I've been to the psychiatrist and on the first visit she said that she believes I have major depression and psychosis. Well at the time I didn't believe her because I was no longer depressed. The reason I went to the psychiatrist is because I see and hear things that other people do not see. My mom says that they are spirits, ghost. Well the doctor wanted to do some test on me and wanted me set on some anti-depressants. Well my mother didn't want that and accused the doctor of just wanting our money. (My mom also has depression). At the moment I'm on st.John's wort. They help with my concentration and with my mood swings. When I don't take my pill the tiniest of things would set me off. Like I have this friend.....Well let's call her "Nancy". I've been Nancy's friend for about two years. When I met Nancy I was hearing the voices and ect. Well at the time I wouldn't have these mood swings and thoughts of homicide, just suicide. At that time I self harmed but we're not talking about that. Nancy had this horrible friend who was two faced. They talked behind my back and one day my friend "Emily" told everyone that I brought a knife to school because I was going to stab them, I was at band at the moment and didn't realize that she had told everyone that. When I returned and went to p.e EVERYONE (Take note the school has about 50 kids and most are pre-kay) avoided me and when I walked towards them wondering why they were avoiding me they laughed and ran away screaming. I was really depressed during those times. Well eventually I managed to get through all that, I learned to not care. Alright back to 2013. Nancy is still my friend and she was no longer friends with two face (The girl from before not Dent.) Well I can tolerate Nancy most of the time but sometimes she just ticks me off. One day I was playing around with her and I jokingly said "Get out the way!" (She was in my spot during sign language) She KNEW I was joking, because I laughed after wards. She answered with attitude and rolled her eyes. My mood changing from cheerful to angry in a matter of seconds. I even took my pill that day! Nancy has family problems and she tells me them. She knows that I love to see others in pain. Some days Nancy avoids me and I know why. She even told me. "I'm not in the mood to be bullied." I can't help it, I can't help but be so heartless. I lack empathy. I lie to get my way and I put on a act to earn others trust. Some kids and teachers at school call me a dictator.(I'm class president.) But one second I feel on top of the world, calling everyone my toys. And then I feel sad and empty. My heart aches, my stomach twist and I feel as if everyone hates me. They do sometimes, they want me dead. I know it. Most of the time I'm very agitated. My mother won't listen to me. She says I'm just special and have the gift of seeing dead people. I'm also very paranoid. One time I refused to eat my dinner because I believed that my mother had poisoned it. I'm tired of feeling so heartless. I'm SICK of these mood swings, they throw my whole day off. I lay in bed at night refusing to sleep because I can't stop thinking and when I do manage to sleep I have nightmares. Last night I was sick of it all. I was on the verge of tears, my heart was aching. I felt so empty and hollow. But I couldn't cry, I couldn't get myself to cry. What I want help with is. Is it normal for a girl my age to feel this way? Or am I some type of sociopath? Was the doctor correct when she diagnosed me?
I'm sorry for any spelling mistakes or grammatical errors.

A. if a psychiatrist told you that you were depressed and psychotic--well then....obviously you have issues that need to be dealth with--st john's wort helps but I think you need real pres meds--go get help---talk to your school psyc./counselor etc.. see what your options are out there....

Is it normal for a 2 year old to only say 4 words clearly?
Q. So, my son turned 2 march 3rd 2013. & I've begun to get worried at his speech. Kids younger than him even talk more words and clearer. He only says yes,no,mama, dada. He never uses to words together like yes mama or such. He doesn't repeat words, and won't try to say words when I'm playing with him such as 'car' or 'toy'. Idk if he's just delayed or if there is a definate speech disorder? I'm a first time mother so could use any advice! Thanks.

A. By 2 he should be saying several words and making simple sentences at times like "Go bye bye", "Night night, mama", etc. It's okay if his pronunciation is not great at age 2. Many 2 year olds don't have all their sounds down perfectly.

Just because he has a speech delay now doesn't mean there is something seriously wrong with him, but you should get him tested by your state's early intervention program (it's usually low cost or free) so you know where he's at and what is recommended. In the meantime, just keep working on his speech with him (but don't let him know you're trying to get him to talk... you know how 2 yr olds can be!).

-Read to him often. Ask him to point at pictures that you name. Then point to pictures and ask him to name them for you. If he won't, then you say what they are.

-Make sounds with him. This can help his pronunciation. Make animal sounds, car sounds, train sounds, people sounds (mmmmm, uh-oh, etc).

-Ask him questions with 2 options and wait for a reply. If he doesn't, then you answer him verbally. Ex: "Do you want milk or juice?.... You're pointing to the milk. You must want milk. Let me get you some milk."

-Talk to him frequently. Especially about the things he's showing interest in. Ask him questions, make it a conversation, even if his answers are just head nods or pointing, get him used to having conversations. Look for ways to incorporate the words he does use into the conversations.

Good luck! Here are 2 webpages I would recommend:

running a child care facility- do we give in and let the kids bring in gameboys, baseball and pokemon cards?
Q. I am a director at a child care and after school care for kids up to age 12. We are in a small town in missouri. We don't allow kids to bring in cell phones, i pods, baseball cards or any kind of trading cards. Under our policies we state ABSOLUTELY these items are not allowed and if a child brings them in they will be taken away and not returned until a parent comes to pick the item up. No exceptions. Many of our kids did not like that policy and even some of our parents had problems with that policy. But we said, sorry that's our policy, those items aren't allowed, that's it. We are in a small town and for a while we were the only after school care facility in our town, so therefore we really had no competition. In March 2011 another after school care facility opened down the street and for the first time since about '96 we had competition and didn't think they could compete with us.- we were wrong! Within a month after they opened we had 12 different parents pull their children out of our center and enroll in their new center. We were shocked. When I was at the soccer field I ran into one of the parents who took their child out of our center and she said, 'i don't understand why you don't allow kids to trade cards. Kids like to that stuff, their not allowed to do that at school, but at after school care I don't see why you don't allow that.' She then went on to tell this new place allows children to bring in trading cards. They allow kids to have more freedom and that was their reason for switching centers and she also said other parents switched for the same reason. It seems like such a small reason! When we checked the other centers' web site, sure enough right there it said kids are welcome to bring gameboys (as long as they turn the sound down), baseball cards, etc. As long as it's not causing a problem, your child is welcome to bring these items in. When summer 2011 the number of kids at our summer camp was WAY DOWN!!! When fall came and the kids went back to school the number of kids at our center went down even more. In January 2012 we had a little more than half the number of kids from the previous January. This was also reflected in the number of people calling to enquire for information on our center and the number of visitors which was very few. Years past we had visitors all the time. I suggested to some of the other employees maybe we should consider allowing kids to bring some of these items in. Their response to me: absolutely not! They claimed that this was temporary and some families would come back and the other center was growing too quickly. We would be fine they said and we couldn't give in on our policies and rules. In the summer of 2012 we almost didn't have a summer camp- we were now down to less than half the number of kids from January 2011. In November 2012 we came up with a grand idea- offer half price tution for the first 3 months. We thought this would hit it out of the park. It brought in 8 new students, which was great but way below what we were hoping. We were thinking it would bring in about 20-30 new kids. Nope, just 8. Here we are in Feb 2013. The other center is just crippling us. Do we allow kids to bring these items into our center and let them have more freedom and just try it out. If our numbers don't go up soon... I worry we will be in serious trouble! Every summer we would have college girls come to work for us. This summer we can only bring back 2 girls. We don't have the number of kids- we don't have the need for too many workers. I'm about out of my mind... what to do. I would love to hear from day care directors, day care workers, etc.

A. I'm not a day care provider though I have provided services to children through social services, managing a Federal program for the state of Illinois and I have an MBA. Your day care has a severe communication problem. You were able to ignore it because you didn't have competition but that is no longer the case. You did not hear what the kids and some parents were telling you prior to the competition and I'm not sure you explained (you din't in your post) to them the reason for your policy. You can't tell adults with the ability to choose, "That's our policy because we say so". If you din't explain the benefits that come from your policy it just seems that you are out of touch. And it is nice to get some feedback from employees but YOU are the director and your day care is failing. The next conversation you are going to have with them is an unpleasant one about their jobs. If people are so dissatisfied that they left, it is going to be very difficult to bring them back and you have a limited population to work with, you are in a small town. To survive you are going to have to let the kids have those items, if you and your staff believe so much in the alternatives you offer the present them in such a way the kids choose them over the gameboys, baseball and pokemon cards. And not only are you going to offer the kids the option of having their toys, you are going to have to offer something the other place isn;t to get your clients back.

how is the twist ration measured and how does it effect the bullet?

Q. if a barrel has a 1:9" twist is this saying that after leaving the muzzle the bullet will rotate once fully in 9"? how is it measured? also how does the twist effect the bullets travel, will a 1:10" twist preform better than a 1:9" twist?

A. Longer bullets generally require a faster rate of twist. When you hear that a heavier bullet needs a faster rate of twist it’s because when its heaver than normal the bullet is generally longer.
It’s a combination of bullet speed, weight and design that leads to what rifling twist works best.

Faster twist rate can cause more wear on the guns bore and its rifling. And too fast of a twist can compromise the bullet even causing it to come apart in the air.

To say a bullet keep its revolution of say 1 in 9 as it travels through the air is wrong. As soon as the bullet leaves the bore it meets resistance from the air and moisture in the air which slows it down. So a bullet thats traveling with a spin of 1 revolution in 9 inches wont be doing so at say 100 yards because it going slower. This changes the ratio of spin per inch to some degree.

The bullets spin keeps it stable in flight. Take a kids top for example, when it spins fast it stands upright spinning in circles. As it slows down it becomes unstable and begins to wobble and then it falls over. A bullet spinning in flight without the correct spin will start to yaw then tumble and hit the target in a key hole effect. As it travels to the target while tumbling it looses it accuracy due to deflection from the air. If you ever shot an odd shaped rock out of a sling shot as a kid and watched them go crazy directions then you can see how a tumbling bullet can go all over the place.
I’m not much of a Wikipedia fan but this explains rifling pretty good;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rifling

The effect of rifling applies to old black powder guns as well as modern guns. Now some big guns such as tanks may not have any rifling at all because the projectile deploys “fins” or stabilizers to spin it.
This article on smooth bores explains that;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoothbore

This modern smooth bore projectile technology has been used for shotgun projectiles used by the military. Check out this puppy;
http://media.photobucket.com/image/finned%20shotgun%20shells%20for%20the%20military/zarganuts/shotgun-fins.jpg
Here is the fag 12 round pictured above being fired at a target;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQYp9fOJ9VI

And this taser shotgun round with fins;
http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/gadgets/other-gadgets/taser-shotgun-shell1.htm

Some old black powder rifles had a 1 in 74 inch spin for lead round balls. And some newer BP rifles made for sabot conical may have a twist of 1 in 10.

Hope this helps some and that I didn’t give you a headache lol!
I sure have one now so I think another shot of Jack is in order!

What do you think about the practice of sending brag letters in Christmas cards?
Q. They tell about how rosy their life has been and how great the past year has been to them. For example, their son is class president, and their daughter is on the honour roll. Some of them brag about how many grandchildren they have and/or how fast they are collecting them. They talk about their extensive travels or what wonderful jobs their spouses or kids have. Nowdays, they brag about their electronic gadgets and their computers. The sun shines perpetually on these people. You would really think they knew Santa Claus better than anyone else, and they make other people feel sick and depressed. They even seem to imply that they are getting all these things because they have been good.

Is this practice in keeping with the spirit of Christmas?

A. Hmm... not keeping with the spirit at all. We've got a family friend who sent those letters out every year until last year and instead she sent a family newsletter. For crying out loud, a newsletter. It had little blurbs for her children... 'Katie's Corner' and even one for the dog. She went on and on about how her son was a black belt and on the Honor roll and how her daughter was the best reader in her class and all this other bull crap that nobody really wants to hear on Christmas. I agree... they just want you think think they're something special. For them, Christmas is the time of year to let everyone know how great life is, even if it's only to avoid thinking about the downpoints. I don't buy a word of it though. It's great to share love and be friendly and even if people don't mean to brag, they do... and they shove the rest of us down. Whoever said, on this page, that you're 'not whorthy' to read those letters proablby has never recived such a Christmas card. I wish we could all brag and be happy for one another. It'd be great if Christmas worked that way, but it doesn't in our heads because the world bassically sucks.

There's an answer in here somewhere. Happy Holidays.

Where's a good hotel to stay in with my family in Hong Kong?
Q. I'm planning to take my husband and 3 kids (aged 10, 12 &15) to their first trip in Hong Kong. We intend to shop for gadgets and visit HK Disney. Please recommend a reasonably priced hotel that's situated near shopping malls, the MTR, and with big enough rooms for kids. Thanks!

A. It might be difficult to find a hotel that can accomodate 5 people in one room and that is affordable. When I travel with family, I stay at the Metropark in Kowloon; it is a very good hotel, great location just off Kowloon Tong, nice amenities, great service, there is a swimming pool on the top floor which is great for the kids...However, the maximum number of people accepted in one room is 3, maybe 4. I believe there are some regulations on the number of people who can stay in one hotel room. My last stay there was last August with my 2 daughters, and I paid an average of 700HK$ per night for a double room, and they gave me an extra cot for free, you might be able to negotiate a good deal if you decide to take two adjoining rooms. If you don't mind staying out of town, the Silvermine Beach hotel is not bad and relatively affordable, and there is a very nice beach. It is located on Lantau, very accessible, near the Big Buddha, Disneyland, and very nice natural scenery, and only a quick ferry ride away from downtown HK or KL.

iPhone 4S as a birthday gift for a 13 year old ?

Q. Hey guys, should I ask my parents for an iPhone 4s for my birthday ?
I have an iPod Classic 8GB , MacBook Pro 2011 , Nikon D90 and a Samsung Galaxy Ace, and all of these are still in good condition ! I didn't break them because I really care a lot about my gadgets so I try my best to take GOOD CARE of them !

I will also promise my parents , if I get the iPhone 4, I will improve my grades ! If I don't improve it, then take the phone back. And also, I will participate in more sports, now, I play Badminton, Soccer and Basketball, but I'm more into Badminton. And another thing is that , I will take part in lots of activities ! Such as rap competitions, dancing and stuff like that....

My parents both have an iPhone 4S and my sister has an iPhone 4. I was thinking maybe, I can give my sister my laptop to share with her, because her laptop got stolen last year .
But yeah, the main thing is , should I ask my parents for it ? My sister is 17 years old and my 22 year old cousin say I'm mature and already responsible. So should I ?

And I don't want to hear " Your a spoiled kid " and stuff like that because I'm not.

THANK YOU FOR THE INCOMING ANSWERS !

A. It sounds like you're a pretty good kid, but as a parent, I would not buy you one, simply for the fact that kids lose things, and that phone isn't a cheap investment. Sorry.

Too much technology... hate it?
Q. I am tired of ebooks and stuff...

For me, the Kindle and Nook look cool, but I don't fancy ever buying either. Why? It's simply because I feel like too much time starring at a screen cannot be healthy on a person. We already have cell phones and computers. Not to mention the time we spend in front of televisions... It's not about being 'hip' or whatever. I'm seventeen years old. I don't like pretty much being forced to look at screens all the time. Most kids in my age group spend way too much time with gadgets. Wasn't there a study recently that said the average is 8-9 hours? That's just insane. We should sleep for about 8-9 hours, yet a lot of us get far less because of all the distractions. I even have to lower the brightness on my computer to it's lowest setting. Do you know why? Well, I usually write on my laptop before I go to bed. If the brightness is so high, my body is going to think that it's morning! Therefore, it causes sleep problems. I used to not be able to sleep for the longest time because of it. Well, now that I make sure the brightness is low, I haven't a problem getting to sleep.

What else bugs me? The Kinect, 3D all over the place, and etc. My friend has a kinect. It's fun, but ugh. Exercising has to be done by the TV? Really? I used to have fun with the wii fit. It's fun to play games on it, but I find it sad that we have to use it as our main exercise sessions. I don't know. I guess it works for people who can't go outside. :\ I personally think 3D movies are awesome. I love seeing them in the theater as a treat every other month or so. Just, I don't like all this over-saturation. 3D game consoles and etc... Just, ugh. Anyone agree with me? Am I alone here?

Anyway, my point is, yeah... all this technology is just flat out tiring on me. Yeah, it's pretty cool, but really, I don't think it's healthy to overindulge in it all. I read real books. I adore my hardcovers. Yes, I realize that it takes trees to make these books, but I really cherish them. They're my escape from the world (including the digital world)... I care for the environment too, though. I use a tote bag for buying products at stores. I ride my bike. I'm a vegetarian. I even plant trees. I know it doesn't make that much of a difference, but I do care. That doesn't make me a bad person for reading actual books.

I sometimes wish I lived in a different time. I worry about the future. Like, twenty years from now, people like me may think, "Wow, 2011 was the good old days." lol while others may think, "Ick. 2011... That was such a long time ago. How could we live without such and such gadget? What would we do without our robot maids?" :\ Ugh. The 'future' was always cool to dream about as a little kid, but now it just seems like a horrid nightmare to me. My head hurts. Really. I guess we should be careful of what we wish for. :(
Olivia, you have obviously not read my question. I said too much technology is bad for a person. That doesn't mean I can't use my computer in moderation.

A. I love reading real books as well as conveniently reading e-books on my iPod Touch since it's a lit product. However, I definitely see your point. We do have so many distractions and as soon as you mentioned the computer screen being too bright for you before bed at night, I automatically turned mine down. I knew already that it wasn't very good for you then and can keep you up, but I never really did anything about it and am always on it before bed.

I see it only getting worse though, as opposed to better...

What kind of car should I get?
Q. So, my parents are getting me a car. With that being said, I do work and I will be paying the car payments including for gas and car mechanical failures. I am 16 and this is NOT my first car. Yes, my parents don't mind spending money, etc. on me obviously and I was just wondering from your opinion - what kind of car I should get or what do you think is better.

*NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT HOW YOU SAY RICH KID AND PARENTS WHO WILL DO ANYTHING FOR THEIR KID, ETC. THAT'S VERY RUDE!* (Yes, I said it in all caps haha!)

I was looking at these cars:
2012 Chevy Volt
2012 Hyundai Tucson
2012 Hyundai Sonata
2012 Cadillac SRX
2012 BMW X6M
2012 Porsche Cayenne
2012 Porsche Panamera
2011 BMW M3
2012 Mercedes Benz CLS 63 AMG
2012 Lexus IS F

MY OPINION:
I have close enough in money to afford a Porsche Panamera & Porsche Cayenne because I have been modeling and acting and I have been saving up with that money since I was 10 when I started. I still do modeling and acting but, little of it now since booking have been slow so I got myself a job at a local restaurant and at a lawyers office. I am home schooled so I have enough time to work, etc.

HERE'S WHERE YOU COME IN:
For value and performance overall, especially for a car that I would like to keep for years from now, what car should I get?

I KNOW: You are going to say also, what is she doing driving a high performance, luxury or everyday car if she doesn't even know how to drive and she is just 16. In my state, the driving age is 14. I have never been involved in a car accident, never caused one and have never gotten any points taken off my license. I know how distracting it is to have friends in the car as my friend has died from that fatal accident but, I honestly don't drive with friends in the car. I only drive with family members in the car or on my own. No music. Just listening to that good old sound of car horns and the environment. (:

From your point of view, like I said, which is better? Please no negativity. Just answers. I know someone is going to put something negative on this post but, I did ask for an answer. I did not however ask for a mean one.

I hope you reply with what you think! Thanks! (:

*p.s. I know that I will have to go to driving school if I wanted to drive a high performance vehicle to know how to control the car, etc.* #JustSaying. (:
@mechanic_girl_C: Thanks for responding! (: I'll keep the Hyundai's in mind. ^_^
@iwastypingthat: Yes. No music seriously. (: Thanks for responding also! ^_^ I'll keep what you mentioned in mind about resale and safety with those cars.
@Raff: Thanks for responding! (: Ouch! That's off of my list for good. Haha yes, I do actually. ^_^
@apeweek: I've read through the information given on the volt and yes, it's reliable & very safe, etc. but I have come to the conclusion to just leave the volt off of my list. I did go down to test drive the Volt today and it's not really for me. It's safe, has the features but it also balls down to how much room is in the vehicle. It's great for someone who wants something small but I like to have a more space. (:
@GM Customer Svc: Thanks for the information on the SRX. (:

A. You should get a Chevy Volt. I'm sure this will make many readers scream, but hear me out. There is independent support for this position.
*
Consumers Reports has the Volt as one of their "recommended" cars. In fact the Volt is the ONLY recommended American car in the small car category. See link:
*
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/types/new-models-by-category.htm
*
The Volt in fact came in first place - beating every other car Consumer Reports tracks - in their Buyer Satisfaction survey. See link:
*
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7-57334967-48/chevy-volt-scores-highest-satisfaction-rating-in-consumer-reports-survey/7
*
It also aced their first year reliability rankings. Note that Consumer Reports did not initially like the Volt - they trashed it in an article after the car first came out. But after testing it for a few months, they radically changed their opinion. This is the key - test drive one and see for yourself.
*
Volt got top 5-star scores in safety testing from both NHTSA and the Insurance Institute - see link (yes, recent "Volt fire" stories are sheer nonsense):
*
http://green.autoblog.com/2011/06/03/chevy-volt-earns-five-star-nhtsa-crash-rating-w-videos/
And
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2011/04/chevy-voly-nissan-leaf-crash-test-iihs-top-safety-pick/1
*
The Volt's little secret is that this is a wickedly fun-to-drive car, great acceleration, full of technological gadgets, and it attracts a lot of attention. Driving past gas stations is fun, too.
*
Plus - it's not even as expensive as most people assume. Depending on your driving pattern - and taking into account that electricity is much cheaper than gasoline - the total cost of ownership could even be cheaper than a comparable car. Below is a spreadsheet where you can input your own driving needs and see what kind of car is cheapest to drive:
*
http://www.squidoo.com/a-free-calculator-for-economy-hybrid-and-electric-cars
*
Yes, I own one. It's the best car I have ever owned. If you go with a Volt, be prepared for arguments with everybody. Do your research so you can answer your critics. This is a great car, the car of the future.

Can someone be punished for bringing an Airsoft Clip to school?

Q. Me and my friends were playing Airsoft over the weekend, and one of my friends left with my clip in his pocket. He texted me saying he'll bring it to school tomorrow. I need it ASAP because I'm updating my gun and I need the clip, but I don't want him getting in trouble.

I know you can get in trouble for bringing the gun, but it's just the clip (thing that holds airsoft bb's).

Also, I can have him unload it if that would be any help, because I don't need the pellets.

Thanks in advance!!!

A. Yes you can.

Is this true that WWE is bringing back the Attitude Era or an era like Attitude Era in 2013?
Q. I heard something like THE REVOLUTION IS COMING and LIVE THE REVOLUTION.

A. No. The only way WWE could ever bring back Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression is by dropping the Disney writers and bringing back more legends having less jobbers. With the amount of young kids watching the program today, WWE wont end PG. They'll just toy with us and add a small change once in a blue moon.
But if Lord Tensai can't even have "Lord" in front of his name without WWE changing it because of 1 crazy Christian then I highly doubt WWE will go back to being what it use to be, entertaining.

How are some ways married couples can use sex toys? Any type of sex toys, even like the ones mainly used in a ?
Q. This question goes out to does who are married and use sex toys. What toys and what are some ways that u use them? I feel like that most of the toys that are made now a days are mainly used for solo acts but i know that couples could have fun with them too. Like vibartors and dildos and whatever else that are mainly used in a solo act.

A. My wife and I use sex toys about 90% of the time we have sex. It helps if you're into role playing, have a certain fetish or are bisexual to get the most out of them. You have this misconception that vibrators and dildos are for single person sex only. Nothing could be further from the truth. My wife owns several strap on dildos, she uses them not only with her girlfriend but on me as well. We use one of her vibrators along with my penis when she wants to be double stuffed during sex. And don't get me started on all the bondage gear we own! Rope, straps, clamps, paddles, floggers, spreaders, gags, hoods and more. My wife goes nuts with this stuff. She really gets off on being a Dominant Woman and i always seem to be bent over something.

What toys should I buy for my new chihuahua puppy?
Q. What are some toys I should buy for my new chihuahua? Will meat filled mini bones be ok for him. He's so small, and I don't want his little teeth to break. Are kong toys ok for chihuahuas?

A. Congratulations on your new puppy! There are several types of toys that you can get for him. Kong toys are awesome because they are so durable. I would get the small size puppy ones that you can put Kong Spray into, or peanut butter, or small treats, they'll also come in handy when your puppy starts teething. Soft cuddly toys are great too because Chihuahuas like to snuggle up to things when they are sleeping. Try different types and textures of toys to see what your puppy prefers. I would skip the meat filled bones, he probably doesn't have the jaw strength to chew on them yet, and could chock.

80's or 90s animated short films i can only just remember but still creap me out?

Q. ok so i remeber very little of this short film, but hear goes, , all the caricters were drawn with very stark angles and it was about this .... i'm going to call her specal agent , dressed in black with 2 guns and this funky silver back pack. shes fighting through a complex full of gards there are bodys and blood everywere. the gaurd uniforms might have been blue .... shes also fighting other agents in black, one i think was some kind of kung fu expert, shes trying to steal a breaf case i think. the move also cuts to some big boss caricter who has been developing some kind of cemical thats in the breaf case... he hides what look like cockroaches in cuts in his fingers to sneak them in some were. the girl agents gets killed and a des jocky at some kind of HQ confurms that shes dead and detinates her back pack and activates a wee flame throwere thats torches her personal quaters....

another was of a floating villige of what i remeber as being people with almost eliphent heads, the main carector was the spear man on a flying boat that hunted giant sting rays,,, and as he walked round the village he keeps passing other "people" with weird spinning eyes walking like in a trance, and he overts his eyes as they pass.... latter he contracts the spinny eye desise and walk to a temple were he jumps into a hole and as he falls through the center of the floating island, he cucoons and turns in to one of the flying rays......

lastly .... and this one i can hardy remeber at all there is a kid and he has a pet or somthing , looks like an ant eater or somthing and hit gets grabbed by these vines and chocked and pulled in to the dirt roof.... ( really desturbing memory ) and latter you see the roof space with the boans of the ant eater a few vines and the radio that some other ppl are trying to contact the id on...... might have looed like the red and white pokemon ball thing..... guys ive been racing my brains for years , if you can help me ill me super greatful

What games and toys were present during the Industrial Revolution?

Q. What kind of toys were played with or what was used as toys? What types of games did children play with?

A. During the Industrial Revolution, only children of wealthy families could afford toys.

Most families had to work. That meant children had to work in factories for long hours.

What sorts of toys would be good for my 5 month old daughter?
Q. She has the basic toys and all and she's been spoiled with teddy bears but I was wondering if there were toys that could help her practice things such as hand eye coordination, grasping items and other mentally stimulating things.

She also used to love looking at things on her mobile and used to reach out to grab them but now that she's learned to roll over on her tummy she has no interest in it.

A. Congratulations! 5 months is a fun age.

Montessori toys are great for the skills you describe. The cylinder bell and puzzle ball have always been favorites here.

Leaving movable toys like cars and balls just out of reach while on their stomach is great fun too!

Things you can do now is put socks on her feet or hands and see if she'll pull on them. Give her a dry then a damp washcloth. Or a clean sock with rice in it. With parent supervision, you can tie a bell on a ribbon on her hand or foot.

Have fun!

What is the best toys to get my baby for his first Christmas?
Q. I want to get him a toy box for future toys and he won't mind getting that instead of a toy. I just don't know whats the best for toys. I get confused everytime we go to the toy department. The problem we have is that he'll be 1 year old only a month later so its hard to get him 12 month toys for his first christmas and then older toys only a month later. At this point he usually likes the packaging more than whats in it.

A. For my son's first Christmas, we gave him diapers. =)

Don't worry so much about the ages listed on boxes. My son plays with just about anything that we help him find interesting. Even if the toy says "18 months" there will be plenty that he will find interesting. Really you only need to watch out for small parts he can swallow or moving parts that can pinch. Other than that, find something that you think fits his personality- animals, trucks, etc- and let him figure it out in his own time.

Also, books are always good. Even if they seem old, they always grow into them. Kids love pictures, plus you can feel like you're helping them learn.

OH- and if they make noise, make sure they have an OFF button. Rule number 1!!!

Right now, my 13 month old son is walking around with a diaper and an empty bowl. Kids love anything they can learn to manipulate. But now I think I'll go help him play with some real toys- my break is over. =)

2002 Spiderman vs. 2012 Spiderman?
Q. I saw the new one last night. To be honest, it was good and Andrew Garfield did a great job, but I still prefer the 2002 movie and overall I prefer Tobey Maguire. Some things I didn't like about the new one:
1. I thought Garfield was good, but wasn't nerdy enough. they didn't portray him as a very "nerdy" kid like Peter Parker is
2. For some reason, it really bothered me that the new Spiderman used home made spiderweb launchers on his wrists instead of it coming right out of him like the original ones. My dad says that in the normal comic books, he used webbing gadgets (I don't believe that's true) but to me it kinda made this spiderman less "spidier"
3. I thought Tobey Maguire was more of a "super hero" and had more "superhuman strength" and stuff like that. I mean, come on, when you get shot in the leg and are a super hero, that shit's supposed to tickle you
4. last but not least, I didn't really like the new outfit too much. I thought the old one was better

In conclusion, I thought Garfield was good and the movie was entertaining. i thought the story line was pretty good and the villain was ok. I still think Tobey played a much better Peter Parker even though Garfield is a hell of an actor

A. I agree with pretty much everything you said. The new one was really good, and will go down as one of my favorites, but the 2002 version is what I grew up with and it would have been really hard to top it

Where does financial aid money for students come from?
Q. I work very hard at my job to pay for bills, school, and life's daily needs. Although I understand why my jobless friend should get a large check from financial aid, it bothers me that instead of saving their money for future educational purposes, they choose to spend the money on impulse buys and pretty electronic gadgets. So then it got me wondering, where exactly does financial aid money comes from?

So if financial aid money comes from the government, and taxpayers are the ones funding the government, does that mean that I'm paying for my classmate's spending on iPods, macbooks, and Disney passes?
@ Mr. A$$: I DO ACTUALLY have to pay taxes and do not NOT get funds returned to me on my tax return (like most people). I guess I am paying for financial aid. I think I'll stay on my soapbox a while longer.

A. Mary, yes we all are paying for them to buy all sorts of nifty gadgets with our tax dollars just like our tax dollars go to fund and pay for some many things that in my mind is ridiculous (i.e: lining politicians pockets for their own benefits, funding various agencies that are there to help U.S. citizens but help illegals instead, big old jet airliner rides and overly price vacations for the overly paid and useless politicians, etc.).

Sadly students (and I'm not talking just young students, I'm talking all ages) seem to think that if they have money left over from scholarships, grants and other financial aid that it's free reign to spend, spend, spend instead of save as they may not get that "free" money the next school year. My daughter has gotten some scholarships and grants and has money left over but it is set aside for the 2012-2013 school year as according to the FAFSA application she does not qualify for anything other than a loan even though my income went down and nothing has really changed for us from last year other than about being $2000 less. Not sure why it's changed but she at least has the extra funds from her current school years financial aid to pay for the next school year (she attends a local community college).

BTW....though Kyle seems to think most everyone gets an income tax refund he is wrong. I know from experience and I'm a single parent with a single income (very minimal) and a kid in college you'd think I'd get one but it's not always so.

So though it may frustrate you, there is not much you can do. So I say stay on that soapbox because I'm right there with you!

What gadgets do you think will be most popular in 2013?

Q. I am researching new market trends that are likely to produce more gadgets in 2013. Efficiency, especially in terms of how we run our daily lives, is essential here. I have looked at websites such as Kickstart.com and have gotten a few good ideas, but would like any more suggestions. This is NOT a homework assignment. I am looking for investmentts.

A. You will find things you never new existed in this list. If you are like me, you will also find yourself wishing you were a kid, just so YOU could get some of these hot toys. I know they didn't have cool toys like this when "I" was a boy.Technology is something that kids understand a lot better than us old folks. Many of these toys and gadgets are technology based (although not all of them). Kids understand them and love them.

Do you notice that kids in this generation look younger than they look?
Q. I noticed this from the beginning of kindergarten all the way to the end of high school though I didnt really say anything about it at firt until reaching high school. I was born in the year 1988 and I personally believe that people born in my year were the first ones to look younger than they look for the majority of them and people born after that year. Kids born before 1988 like between 1980 and 1987 all of them looked younger too except they looked more like adult kids and people born before 1980 definitely looked like adults and you would notice it when watching tv shows like full house and saved by the bell when they're teenagers they look like they should be 30. Now I'm not sure what people would say about this trend that oh looks dont mean anything whether you look younger or older. I believe it does because graduating in 2006, growing up with my age group even since elementary they just behaved like children. I know almost every kid would misbehave in elementary school or what not but people my age would keep up with doing mischief, even kids younger than me. When I was in 9th grade kids who were upperclassmen in 10th grade and so forth used to tell me that oh your class sucks all the kids your age and younger are idiots. Upperclassmen also were mischievious too but very less. I would say that my age group and younger would start a new generation. The only positive about this generation now is that the younger the look the more good looking you are but the more immature your behavior could be. Sorry if this is a stupid question or I'm confusing you guys but I hope you all know where Im getting at. Anyone agree.
I would rather hang out with older kids

A. No, your class is not the last class to look old. It's definitely my class, the class of 2013. I am suffering through exactly what you are it's actually scary. Like ever since kindergarten, I've always had an immature class (we were born in 1995 in case that matters) and now here I am at my senior year and we all still look and act like middle schoolers. Like I feel like the class that just graduated, the class of kids born from 1993-1994 were so much more mature and adult-like than us in both looks and attitude, and ready to move on to college. Idk this always annoys me because I hate looking young and want to look like how the seniors of last classes did haha. And the senior classes I'm comparing myself to don't even look half as old as the ones from when my parents were in high school! Like they all looked so cool whereas we look and act 13-14.but yea anyway, I completely understand and have no idea why this phenomenon is happening, and it is only getting worse. Like the freshmen this year look like 6th graders. Like by the time they graduate I feel like high school is just going to be a second elementary school with people giving out toy cars and **** at graduation. Maybe it's something in the water, maybe malnutrition, or maybe it's just better medicine as time goes on meaning well look younger for our whole lives and therefore live longer :)

Where can I sign up to be Obama's food taster?
Q. http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/14/obama-couldnt-eat-at-hill-meeting-without-taster-audio/

Being paid to eat FREE food?!? Wow, that is totally awesome!
I'm not a troll. This is my real picture.

A. So you actually ain't kidding?

Get some self-esteem.

Other than that the idea is good.

There also was this woman in the UK whose job was to test sex toys. Even cooler, eh? Better still, combine the two jobs, you get food and sex for free plus some change. Woo hoo. All you need now is a place to stay.

Which 2013 movie do you think will perform the best at the box office?

Q. Of all the potential blockbusters this year, which do you think will have the best box office run?: Jack the Giant Slayer, Oz: The Great and Powerful, The Croods, G.I. Joe 2, The Host, Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby, Star Trek 2, Fast and Furious 6, The Hangover 3, After Earth, Superman: Man of Steel, Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, Lone Ranger, Grown Ups 2, The Wolverine, The Smurfs 2, 300: Rise of an Empire, Red 2, Percy Jackson 2, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, Paranormal Activity 5, Thor 2, Catching Fire, and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I personally believe Iron Man 3 will be the top movie this year, because Iron Man is very popular already and it is likely that the films with The Avengers characters will get a boost from now on. The one that's likely to perform the worst is probably Paranormal Activity 5, because the Paranormal Activity movies are consistently getting worse and making less. What do you think? Thanks.

A. Jack the Giant Slayer,: not feeling it.. i think Singer has lost his edge as a diresctor
Oz: The Great and Powerful, toss up... Raimi is always good, but Franco as Leading man?
The Croods,: first I've heard of it, not impressed
G.I. Joe 2, : already delayed 9 months (was originally due the week before Dark Knight) and last I read being 'dumped' in February, not a known hot time
The Host, Solid Opening week due to TwiHards, seriosu drop after that
Iron Man 3,: block buster... only danger is how close the Next one is released to it
The Great Gatsby,: I don't think enough people Care about the source Material, and it was shot in 3D which might turn people off as superfluous for a Period Drama
Star Trek 2, : big numbers (like Iron Man 3 the only stumbling Block is what comes out the week after
Fast and Furious 6, Does it really nead #6? I can't see anyone more than the Fanboys showing up for this one, and the franchise as a whole didn't hold the top spot often if at all
The Hangover 3, : after 2 feeling like bad rerun I don't see long lines for number 3 unless the promos make it clear its 'original'
After Earth, : Shyamalan like Singer hasn't been that solid of late... and the synopsis from IMDb implies its Jaden Smith's Movie, and Will Smith is just there to help the kid out
Superman: Man of Steel,: I know I'm there on opening night... I think it'll do well
Monsters University,: after Toy Story 3 I see a lot of original fans coming back, not sure how the Kids will grasp a Prequel
Despicable Me 2,: similar to the first
Lone Ranger, : I think it comes down to Fans accepting Johnny Depp as A Native American (regardless of any really NA Blood he may have) and B a supporting character (this also assumes the Director doesn't turn this into Tonto The Movie
Grown Ups 2,: all Adam Sandler Movies play the Same as it is, why bother making a real sequel
The Wolverine,: I think it'll open High, but the Japanese setting will lead to drop off, especially if the next week sees another Big Name release
The Smurfs 2: Really the first one did well enough to Justify a sequel?
300: Rise of an Empire, Save for the Former Bond Girl this looks like a Syfy Saturday night kind of Movie
Red 2, It'll pay for itself, possible Justify a 3rd, but It's more of a Dark Horse than a Block buster
Percy Jackson 2,: I'll see it, but I think it's too far delayed (3 years might not seem like much but last I checked their based on 'Young Adult' Books based on Teenaged Demi-Gods (the actors were already too old then)
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, I see book fans showing up early... but I don't see it even Justifying 1 sequel let alone the full franchise adaption they are hoping for
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2,: not feeling it, 1 was quirky fun, 2 might be overkill
Paranormal Activity 5, : the horse is dead and now the ghost of the Horse if flogging its own corpse
Thor 2, respectable open, the new director and story will tell
Catching Fire,: hard to say... my understanding is that the Tone is completely different from HG... this may play well in teh book series but movie goers can be more fickle
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. : of course its Jackson i iddle arth

I see the Top 5 being Dominated by the Hobbt and Superheroes (I'm clearly not the demographic for the Young Adult adaptations so they Could surprise me)

Im 15 and i dont want to get older or grow up. help?
Q. Ok if someone really can help me please do it. Ive asked familiar questions like this and half of the people just made fun of me. Another amount of people went on and made no sence whatsoever about something totally irrelevant. I just turned 15 last month and i can honestly say it feels so eeird to say it. And it feels weird that its already 2012 theres nothing to look foward to as an adult or young man. I like the feeling that im still just a kid(secretly) because like any other kid my age would think im crazy but idk what it is i just miss my past when i was a kid. It sucks because my friends are rally good friends and at school they act different they dont acknowledge me as much as outside of school because they wanna be popular. But idc about that stuff. Outside school theyre really cool. I just fear thr furture. Every year has gotten worse for me since 7th grade. 7th grade wow this sucks i miss being a kkd, 8th grade damn i miss 7th grade this year sucks and i miss the age 12 and below and 9th grade damn what happened with my life? Im asking all these questions and wondering what to do everyones growing up, changing, no more toys, no more being a kid :'/, i realise i have more responsibility. I wish i can go back to elementary school and just have fun. I dont wanna move foward i cant believe in a year ill be 16 and itll be 2013. Thid is very depressing for me. Please help me out i just wanna be a younger kid again. Not knowing about sex or drugs. I dont do any of these i swear i miss it all. And so far no one seems to have helped me and i want the help

A. Life's about taking the good with the bad son. Life's not all sunshine, rainbows and lollipops. Yes it kind of sucks. Look everything happens for a reason. Ok you need to know this. We all have somewhere that we're headed. We all age but you can still be you at heart. And ask God to help you get through your rough times. There's a good song called simple man. It might help you out and hopefully this helps you to.
“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”
