Toddler's Birthday???

MARE

Well My problem is that my daughter 2nd birthday is next month and I don't know what to get for her. She has too many toys, and plenty of clothes, but we want to take photos of something for overseas relatives... and it is just my husband, me and our two daughters, that will be at the party... we have no family near us. What to do to make this special for her?
Also we have limited resources...

Answer
Find a local swimming pool that offers a childs section. These sections normally have a variety of water fountain areas as well as shallow areas where the toddlers can sit and splash with their parents. This activity makes for GREAT pictures and the kids love it. The best way I know to spend an hour with a young child for her birthday.

Toddler ride on toy in a hotel room?

Proud Momm

We are taking a trip to the zoo in about 2 weeks. We have never really been on vacation or stayed overnight anywhere besides the in laws since my 16 month old was born. She loves her Mickey Mouse ride on toy, so I was wondering whether or not I would be allowed to take it to the hotel with us. I know usually most parents take little toys that fit in a bag, but she isn't really interested in anything besides building blocks (which I plan on taking) and her ride on toy. I know many hotels have restrictions on things, so I have no idea whether this would be one of them or not. We are going on the trip for 3 days and my husband has some work to do while we are there, so my daughter and I will be in the hotel room by ourselves for a period of time, which is why I wanted to take something to keep her entertained, and her ride on toy is her favorite.

Its a regular size ride on push toy. I just don't want to take it all that way and have something said about having it in the room. We really haven't traveled enough to know hotel policy on things and seeing as how we are going on another trip in June to Dolly wood, I would really like to know.

Answer
I'm actually a manager at a hotel, and I can tell you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with bringing a ride-on toy for your daughter. The only thing that could possibly become an issue is if it is extremely loud to the neighboring guests and they complain, but this is highly unlikely (unless the hotel has hardwood floors, or your daughter is partying loudly in the middle of the night!).
From a mother standpoint, however, you may want to reconsider packing something so big. There will be enough other stimulation around in a new place that she won't really need it, and it will just become cumbersome. (I speak from experience - the first trip we took with our daughter, we overpacked SO much only to find out that our hotel room was on the third floor, and the hotel didn't have an elevator!!!!) Find a hotel with an indoor pool if you can; if they don't have a pool, at least let her walk around the lobby, and around the grounds outside if the weather is nice. Take her shopping, or to some local parks or something. When we were traveling this summer (our daughter was 19 months old), her favorite thing to play with were the travel brochures we picked up at a rest stop along the way.
Any good hotel (even if they don't have a concierge!) will have knowledgeable front desk staff that can point you in the direction of entertaining things to do.

Where can I find toys made in the USA or atleast not made in China?

honeybear

I am afraid to buy toys made in China for my kids. I have 2 birthdays and Christmas coming up. Where can I get toys not made in China and what brands are they?

Answer
Try www.oompa.com. The toys are a little pricey, but for the most part they are made in Europe, which means very high standards. Also just keep checking the boxes, I was able to find some stuff at Target the other day. I still have yet to find toys made in the US that were not handmade and I have been looking

Who is getting their kids vintage toys?

Linnie

From the recent poison paint and all.
I think it is good to buy the children vintage toys from GOODWILL and The Salvation Army
and thrift shops. As they are safe unlike the recalled ones this year and last.
Do you think so if the toys are in good shape and very clean?

Answer
This could be a good idea, just make sure to check out the Consumer Product Safety Commission website at www.cpsc.gov to make sure these toys haven't also been recalled. Also, remember that many toys are still manufactured right here is the USA. According to a Fox News article printed on Aug. 16th, the following toys are still made in the USA:

⢠Battleship
⢠Bicycle Playing Cards
⢠Boggle Jr.
⢠Candyland
⢠Chutes and Ladders
⢠Clue
⢠Connect Four
⢠Crayola Crayons *
⢠Life
⢠Louisville Slugger
⢠Monopoly
⢠Mouse Trap
⢠Operation
⢠Parcheesi
⢠Play-Doh *
⢠Pop-O-Matic Trouble
⢠Radio Flyer Discovery Wagon
⢠Scrabble
⢠Sorry
⢠Stratego
⢠Tri-ominos
⢠Trivial Pursuit
⢠Yahtzee
⢠Melissa and Doug U.S.A. Floor Puzzle (Most puzzles are made in the USA!)

* Note: Not all packages of Crayola Crayons and Play-Doh are made in the USA -- please check the label.

Also, anything you buy from the American Plastic Toy Company is made in America (Target sells their products).

You can also find American-made toys on these Web sites:

www.ShopForAmerica.com

what are some ways to stay cool while camping in the summer?

Martinez

My kids insist on camping this summe before school starts back. The only problem is that it is 95 degrees!!

Answer
Go to a river!
You can't beat a cool flowing river for staying cool. You could rent an RV with AC, and go to a place with electric hookups, but you ought to be doing stuff with your kids. Even when you are not in the water, many river valleys are ten to twenty degrees cooler than the rest of the countryside. Your kids will enjoy the water a lot as well, and you will not have trouble entertaining them or getting them to sleep at night
The RV might not be a bad idea anyway, if you are not skilled with open fire meals, and you do not have a camp stove. It also eliminates the need to go buy about 20 other things you have to have for camping, and will not know you needed till after dark the first night.
Some of the things you might forget that are important for camping:
Sun Block!
Bug Spray!
Toilet Paper!
For tent camping;
*Extra blankets! They can realy make for a better nights sleep, and I have had a sleeping bag taken in the river before.
*Lighting; I recommend a couple flashlights for trips to the potty or exploration, and two "train lanterns" that will burn all night on one tank of oil. Donât forget the oil, and batteries!
*Plenty of ice, and plenty of WATER. Put all the blankets on top of your coolers during the day. Pack meat in a separate cooler from drinks and snacks if you can, or in a plastic container buried under everything else. Freeze everything you can before you pack, ecept your first meal. Plan a uncooked meal at lunch time, and start fires half an hour or more before you plan to cook.
*A large laundry soap jug is best for keeping hand wash water on the outskirts of camp; one with a spigot works the absolute best. Just refill with river water.
*Lawn chairs and fun noodles are a good idea. You do not need a chair for everyone, but at least one per adult and one more is a good idea. Fun noodles are cheap, and they do not leak like blow up water toys.
*Last but not least, time out at the river is ten thousand times better than time out any place else!

I Heard Pixar Is Making a Toy Story 4?

Lauren

I heard it is coming out November 2013. Or maybe it is Incredibles 2? I know they are coming out with Monster's Inc. 2. Do you agree that Cars 2 bombed? I saw it with my kids and it was AWFUL. I hope the other installments of classic Pixar movies aren't as bad...Thoughts?Opinions? Please share your feedback.

Answer
By The Way, Monsters Inc. 2 is already titled Monsters University and already got a release date, June 21, 2013. Speaking to Vacanted Date To Pixar, It could be Toy Story 4 in 2013 because of Tom Hanks said about the terrible-reviewed movie, Larry Crowne, there will be a Toy Story 4. it might be cross a $4 billion mark for Pixar if Brave and Monsters University went up to $280M in the final gross. Cars 2, i agreely bombed down for the worstest gross Pixar movie since A Bug's Life in 1998 all because of Jeff Gordon???? man, Jeff Gordon won 84 races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and 4 Championships, don't bombed down that movie with Jeff Gordon in it!!!! I Think Pixar is going to get a Razzie for the first time for the Worst Animated Movie.

Do you notice that kids in this generation look younger than they look?

I noticed this from the beginning of kindergarten all the way to the end of high school though I didnt really say anything about it at firt until reaching high school. I was born in the year 1988 and I personally believe that people born in my year were the first ones to look younger than they look for the majority of them and people born after that year. Kids born before 1988 like between 1980 and 1987 all of them looked younger too except they looked more like adult kids and people born before 1980 definitely looked like adults and you would notice it when watching tv shows like full house and saved by the bell when they're teenagers they look like they should be 30. Now I'm not sure what people would say about this trend that oh looks dont mean anything whether you look younger or older. I believe it does because graduating in 2006, growing up with my age group even since elementary they just behaved like children. I know almost every kid would misbehave in elementary school or what not but people my age would keep up with doing mischief, even kids younger than me. When I was in 9th grade kids who were upperclassmen in 10th grade and so forth used to tell me that oh your class sucks all the kids your age and younger are idiots. Upperclassmen also were mischievious too but very less. I would say that my age group and younger would start a new generation. The only positive about this generation now is that the younger the look the more good looking you are but the more immature your behavior could be. Sorry if this is a stupid question or I'm confusing you guys but I hope you all know where Im getting at. Anyone agree.
I would rather hang out with older kids

Answer
No, your class is not the last class to look old. It's definitely my class, the class of 2013. I am suffering through exactly what you are it's actually scary. Like ever since kindergarten, I've always had an immature class (we were born in 1995 in case that matters) and now here I am at my senior year and we all still look and act like middle schoolers. Like I feel like the class that just graduated, the class of kids born from 1993-1994 were so much more mature and adult-like than us in both looks and attitude, and ready to move on to college. Idk this always annoys me because I hate looking young and want to look like how the seniors of last classes did haha. And the senior classes I'm comparing myself to don't even look half as old as the ones from when my parents were in high school! Like they all looked so cool whereas we look and act 13-14.but yea anyway, I completely understand and have no idea why this phenomenon is happening, and it is only getting worse. Like the freshmen this year look like 6th graders. Like by the time they graduate I feel like high school is just going to be a second elementary school with people giving out toy cars and **** at graduation. Maybe it's something in the water, maybe malnutrition, or maybe it's just better medicine as time goes on meaning well look younger for our whole lives and therefore live longer :)

how can i make homemade spy gadgets?

Taylor

i dont want anything tacky or for little kids but i also dont want it to be really high tech or complicated. also if you have any ideas on how to make an outdoor fort. thanks!

Answer
Much of "spying" is just talking to people (and having a good memory).

A small, fast camera that can take decent pictures without much light might be useful. A pocket knife is often useful, and I can imagine how super glue would be useful for impromptu false IDs and such.

What do you want to do? Gain information directly? Gain information from people? Cause trouble? Etc.

how do you make home made spy gadgets for kids?

I'm wanting to know how to make home made spy gadgets because I am having a birthday party and it's a spy theem and I'm very intrested in this kind of stuff but not put a cup to the door!

Answer
first it depends on how old you are, and how high tech u want it to be. if you want it very simple, try making a grappling hook, or somthing of that sort...fake earpiece...camera sun glasses...ect

Tips for baby-sitting 5 kids of all ages?

Julia

In a few days I'm going to be baby-sitting five kids. I'm sitting for: two 4 year old girls, one 5 year old boy, one 2 month old girl and one 9 month old boy. I want to know if anyone has any tips for: toys to bring for the 4 and 5 year olds, ways to keep the older kids busy while i tend to the little ones, fun art projects for the older kids. Thank you so much! :)
PS: the kids are my cousins but the 5 year old (and his 2 month old sister) live in Washington DC (i live in Minnesota) and the 4 year olds see him very much so if anyone has any ideas to have them all playing together and getting to know each other.
THANKS SO MUCH :D IT'S GOING TO BE A BIG JOB SO ANYTHING HELPS :D :) :D :) :D :)

Answer
I use to keep a group of kids all diff. ages during my late teens.

What I usually did was ask the older kids if they could help me. Most kids under 5 love this. So you can ask the 4yr old girls & 5yr old boy to be your special helpers. They'll feel important.

The 2mt old most likely will sleep a lot so make sure you have a baby monitor or something to hear her.
The 9mt old may be crawling so you need to keep an eye on him/her too.

I wouldn't suggest art projects. The 9mt old could find one of the small items and choke on it.

Playing outside while you watch will help get out most of their energy. Keep a baby monitor on so you can hear sleeping babies.

Coloring with crayons will keep them busy too just keep a basket for the crayons so they don't roll off the table since the 9mt old could get one and chew on it.

When the babies sleep you can read books to the kids then maybe after the story they could draw their favorite parts.

30mins videos work well too when you are busy with the babies.

Have fun

Do you let your kids take those irritating noisy gift toys in the tub ?

Q. its works good huh ?

:D

Answer
I had a better plan.
He (or she) who bought the noisy toy...got to keep it at their house.
That way the kids had something there to play with when we came to visit. You know how kids are with a 'new' toy.
We were at their house a lot in the beginning.
For some strange reason people quit buying my kids noisy toys.

Go figure.

LOL

I have three kids and I just can't keep their toys organized and put away! Any suggestions?

Answer
Young kids love their toys. The presence of toys is one of the key elements that separates a child's bedroom from an adult's. Given the diversity of sizes and shapes, the amount of small, removable pieces, and frequency of use, it's no wonder that toys are the largest source of clutter in any young child's room.

The first step to getting toys in order is winnowing out broken toys, safety hazards, and those the child has outgrown. Try to do this with your child: you may be surprised what he or she no longer wants to keep.

The next step to organizing toys involves a lot more than just a bigger toy box. Infants, toddlers, and preteens present the biggest toy-management challenges.

Infants: If you have an infant, you're in control of the toys. But that can become quite a chore because so many people give toys as gifts. Don't be afraid to donate toys that never get played with or are stored in closets. Create a "favorites" bag for the small toys that your child likes the most. You can use a backpack or any other fabric bag with a loop or handle (even a mesh laundry bag will work). Fill the bag with the baby's favorite toys and then put it on the floor next to the crib when your child is in the crib. The bag can move wherever the child goes -- to the playpen, changing table, stroller, and beyond. That way, you'll always have a place for your child's favorite toys. Because infants make a mess of things within their reach, keep extra stuffed animals, learning toys, and toys for later ages together by type on a high shelf or in a box with a latch.

Toddlers to preteens: Beyond the age of two, children's toy collections become increasingly diverse and extensive. Keeping the growing population of toys in line requires a variety of storage solutions.

Benches, boxes, and chests can provide ample storage to accommodate an assortment of toys. If you use a toy box, consider buying one without a lid or removing the lid from the one you have. That way the child sees exactly where the toys are supposed to go, and can literally throw them in there. It removes one step in the process -- that of opening the lid -- making it much easier to stay organized. It also removes the possibility of the lid closing on small fingers. If you keep the lid, look for boxes with finger cutouts and lid-control devices with safety hinges. Bench toy boxes serve two purposes: seating and storage. Find one with a slatted lid so it's easy to see the toys inside.

Bin consoles are great solutions for rooms with more than one child. These are essentially groups of stacked cubes with pullout baskets. The cubes can be self-standing or mounted on a wall -- but it's always better to keep things low so small children can get to what they need without being tempted to climb. Toys in consoles can be segregated by type or by child. Some consoles come with simple transparent boxes that let the child see what's inside. Other units use wicker or wood baskets that can be labeled with words, a picture, or an icon (for example, twist-tying a small stuffed bunny to the front of a basket containing stuffed animals). Choose a stylish, well-made bin console and it will serve your child from the crib through college.

Shelves are ideal for board games, puzzles, and "collections" of toys. Dedicating a shelf to one type of toy ensures that your child is very clear about where that type of toy goes when not being used. For instance, devote a shelf to action figures so your grade-school child knows where the figures are, and can take pride in keeping the toys in good shape. Board games and puzzles should be placed on shelves that leave plenty of room for new games. If the games are usually played with the entire family, move them to where there is more available space, such as a shelf in the family room.

Teens: Once into their teens, most kids leave the stuffed animals and power figures behind, opting for more high-tech forms of entertainment. Your child's room needs to reflect that change. Chances are your son or daughter listens to music and may well have a handheld electronic video game console. These high-tech and expensive items need a safe place to stay when they are not in use, so that they don't get lost or broken. If your teen's room includes a stereo, keep portable music players and handheld game consoles in a padded tray or box near it. It's best if this container has a drawer or enough extra space for batteries and any other peripherals such as the cord that connects the music player to a computer. If the room doesn't have a stereo, keep the box or tray near where your teen listens to the music player -- a homework area or a bed. Let your son or daughter pick out a CD rack to organize his or her music collection.

Inside activities with a 4 year old?

My boys ar

Besides coloring, drawing, reading, & playing with toys.

Answer
Uhhh just off the top of my head:

Blanket-fort making in the living room. Drag blankets, pillows, masking tape, everything you can find an just make a giant fort that everybody can play in. If you want to get really into it, have a family camp-out in te fort overnight. Tell ghost stories, make smores in the microwave... the whole shebang.

Have a movie marathon. Do 'sequels'... for instance, watch _all_ of the Toy Story movies back-to-back. Or Shrek. Or what-have-you. Make a big bowl of popcorn.

My kids love to put on plays. If you only have the one kid to entertain, Mummy can be in the play too, can you can both have multiple roles. If there are a lot of kids, there can be actors, directors, ushers, poster-makers, etc. Either act out a favorite play or movie ("Annie" is a favorite around here, even for my son) or make up your own script.

Scavenger hunt. Mum cuts out a bunch of different pictures from magazines, then makes a list and each kid has to "find" a bird, and a banana, and a giraffe, and a happy family, etc.

Have the kids help clean. Sounds crazy, but if you've got the right attitude it can be fun. You ever seen The Adventures of Pippi Longstockings? They made scrubbing shoes for the kids... just take those wooden scrubbers, make a simple leather strip on the wooden side that the kids can slip their foot through, and viola! it's just like rollerblades. Suds up the kitchen, and let them have at it.

chore chart for kids?

Q. Can anybody write me a list of chores for young kids from i dunno.. 4-12 once they reach adolesence they should know better haha.. right

Answer
Suggested info is from the following link:

http://housekeeping.about.com/od/chorechart1/a/ageapprchores.htm

Some chores 2-3 year olds can doâ¦

Help make the bed.
Pick up toys and books.
Take laundry to the laundry room.
Help feed pets.
Help wipe up messes.
Dust with socks on their hands.
Mop in areas with help.

Ages 4 and 5
Preschoolers still find helping to be an exciting venture and usually are thrilled when time is taken to teach them new chores. They are ready to do some chores without constant supervision. Rewards at this age are very motivating. A sticker chart that allows you to build up to bigger rewards can be appropriate. For some preschoolers, tying chores to an allowance is a great option and fosters independence in choosing a reward.

Some chores preschoolers can do in addition to the ones aboveâ¦
Clear and set the table.
Dust
Help out in cooking and preparing food.
Carrying and putting away groceries.

Ages 6-8
These school age kids may or may not still have their childlike enthusiasm for completing chores. What they do have, however, is an overwhelming desire to be independent. Parents and caregivers can guide children to become independent in their chores, using chore charts to keep track of their responsibilities both completed and pending.

Some chores that they are capable of in addition to the ones aboveâ¦
Take care of pets.
Vacuum and mop.
Take out trash.
Fold and put away laundry.

Ages 9-12
Children in this preteen age are capable of increasing responsibility where chores are concerned. Keep in mind that many children this age rely on continuity. Find a system that works for your family and do not change it without the input and support of the people it directly affects. Make sure that you factor in rewards and consequences and address those issues with your children. Let them know the consequences of not completing chores, as well as the rewards for fulfilling their responsibilities.

Some Chores preteens are capable of in addition to the ones aboveâ¦
Help wash the car.
Learn to wash dishes.
Help prepare simple meals.
Clean the bathroom.
Rake leaves.
Operate the washer and dryer.

Ages 13-17
Teenagers are developmentally ready to handle almost any chore in the home. At the same time a teenagerâs schedule can sometimes become quite hectic, leaving little time for chores. Make sure that the workload of your teenagers is manageable.

Some chores teenagers are capable of in addition to the ones aboveâ¦
Replace light bulbs and vacuum cleaner bags.
All parts of the laundry.
Wash windows.
Clean out refrigerator and other kitchen appliances.
Prepare meals.
Prepare grocery lists.

Remember that children mature at their own pace and not all kids will be capable of advanced chores at the same age, just as some children may be ready for more difficult chores at a younger age. The most important guidelines are supervision and evaluation of your childâs needs and abilities.

what toys do you think are a great investment?

Sexy Ma

what toys do you think are a great investment? I have a 12 yr old daughter and 4 yr old son and they use the trampoline EVERYDAY! I also, have a motorcycle power wheels and my daughter will ride on it with him(we have a jeep power wheels but my daughter can't fit into that one comfortably) and a 9 ft. inflatable water slide..Both my kids have sooooo much fun on it!

Answer
I hate to spend money on big expensive toys...Mostly because kids get bored quickly and most toys break or the kids lose pieces really quickly!

I like toys like play-doh, cheap fun and easy to replace.

Our biggest investment was a play kitchen with food and pots and pans. We also built a sandbox, but sand toys are really cheap.

Our favorite toys:
Play-doh
Washable water colors
Wooden blocks
Crayons (Washable)
Books
Wooden puzzles
Hot wheels cars
Army guys
Bubbles (which you can make yourself)
Etc.

Is it illegal to ride a motor scooter around in your neighborhood?

Audrey McC

My child just got a little kid motorcycle, which goes max 10 mph and is battery powered, and i want to know if it's illegal to ride it around the neighborhood.

Answer
sorry it doesn't say where you are from.

in the uk it is illegal to ride anything on the pavement including a bicycle, however the police understand that it is wrong for children to ride on the road so it is overlooked until they are of a responsible age. in the uk that is 12

a battery powered bike is mechanically powered and would require licensing tax and an mot. again however its a toy and would be overlooked. this is different to a battery assisted bicycle where it is manually powered but assisted.

if you were in the uk it would be illegal to ride on the path and to ride on the road but it is standard presidure to ignore both

What gadgets do you think will be most popular in 2013?

mchl_the_c

I am researching new market trends that are likely to produce more gadgets in 2013. Efficiency, especially in terms of how we run our daily lives, is essential here. I have looked at websites such as Kickstart.com and have gotten a few good ideas, but would like any more suggestions. This is NOT a homework assignment. I am looking for investmentts.

Answer
You will find things you never new existed in this list. If you are like me, you will also find yourself wishing you were a kid, just so YOU could get some of these hot toys. I know they didn't have cool toys like this when "I" was a boy.Technology is something that kids understand a lot better than us old folks. Many of these toys and gadgets are technology based (although not all of them). Kids understand them and love them.

What to get for 2 and 3 year old boys for Christmas 2013?

Morgan

I'm seriously stuck on what to get my 2 and 3 year old Nephews for Christmas this year. I know they love cars, trucks, dogs, and one of them likes horses. I am trying to buy each of them a gift (or 2?) that equals $25. I've looked at a few websites that had the top Christmas toys and nothing was interesting enough.

I also have a Niece and a 4 month old Nephew. I already bought my niece a gift that was $25. I already know what to get for the 4 month old.

I know Halloween was yesterday and it's still early, but i like to get a head start for various reasons.

Any ideas are much appreciated!

Answer
When my son was 2 and 3 i got leapfrog toys but those can be somewhat pricey depending on what you get, although some arent that bad. I would look into those. Also any toys that helps recognizing shapes, letters, numbers, etc that has noise and lights is usually fun for kids that age. My son is almost 7 now but that is what i sticks out in my head as the things he liked the most. Hope that helps :)

In which Spy Kids movie do they go to a beach shack?

tr0ll3r

I can't remember specific details, but Juni and Carmen go into this beach shack which seems pretty dodgy at first, but when they go inside and press some buttons or turn some keys or something, the beach shack is instantly modernised. There is a microwave that makes heaps of different foods and there are a lot of cool little gadgets. If you know which Spy Kids movie this is - 1, 2, 3 or 4, that would really help. Thanks

christmas toys for my kids?

Jhoanne

I am going to get the toys for my kids. since we are going to a roughttime we are going to get free from toys for tots. Can i go alone there *(they already have my info). or do i need to take my children. they are 12,9.7,11 years old. I don't want them to fell bad if they are getting free staff.

Answer
I don't think your kids need to go with you. They should have the information on all your children and have some things put aside for them already.

I don't see a reason for the kids to have to come. It might be better for them not to because like you said they may feel embarrassed, and it will ruin the surprise.

You shouldn't feel embarrassed lots of people are having a hard time this Christmas. I wish you the best for the new year and happy holidays.

Toddler on an airplane?

mommy of 2

My daughter and I are going on a trip, and I was wondering what kind of identification she will need, if any?

I was also looking for some tips on what kind of things to bring on the plane with me. Thank you!

Answer
Acceptable forms of identification are established by the T.S.A

However when a child under the age of 18 is traveling with an adult they are not required to show any identification. Unless the child is a lap child then they might ask to see Birth Cert. to verify age. If your going out of the country you will need a pasport. Me personally when I travel with my son (one year old) I bring a copy of his Birth Cert. Just in case. I have yet to be asked to show it. But the one time they might ask I want to make sure I do have it on hand.

About things for you to bring for your child. Anything that you know she likes that will keep here happy. Toys she really like if she has a favorit book or coloring books. Snacks she loves to eats. Any thing to keep her busy sitting down.
If you dont have a min. DVD player it is worth it to get one. A few of her fav. moves & your there in no time! ;o)

Hope this helps!

What are some good toddler travel toys?

KL

I am going on an airplane with my 18 mo. old dd. and she'll be sitting on my lap through the flights. They are not too long, about 1 1/2 hours each (of course, if she screams the whole time, it could feel like an eternity :). I'm kinda nervous about her not being able to have a lot of room to roam. Any good suggestions on portables toys or activities that would keep her occupied?

Answer
I also have an 18 month old and we travel frequently.

We bring reusable stickers, Playmobil 1.2.3. figures (for imaginitive play), books and some snacks (preferably small items like dried apples that take a while to eat).

I have more tips in this article about keeping your toddler occupied on a plane:

toddler toys question?

*~Momma of

i have a 15 month old son who loves playing with his 4 yr. Old brothers planet heroes action figures.... Does anyone know of any action figure type toys (other then little people) in my youngest sons age range??

Answer
Check out http://www.BabyToddlerAndPreschool.GalaxyofStores.com for online stores that have all sorts of baby products, including toys and games for toddlers. Many of these toys and games will not only keep the toddler occupied, but will do so in a stimulating and educational manner. These stores often show information about the products they sell, and usually have a chat line, or a phone number to call, where you can ask questions if you need additional information.

Suggestions for educational/learning toys/tools for toddlers?

:~:miSsY:~

My daughter is 19 months old. I don't want to give her toys that only serve the purpose of distracting. I have spelling blocks and a few shape matching toys but she doesn't seem very interested. There are so many options out there so any suggestions are greatly appreciated, I want her to learn and have fun:). Thanks!

Answer
Are you looking for toys which can help to teach letters, numbers, shapes and colours?

One thing that my son loved at 19 months, was a wooden alphabet peg puzzle which had both upper and lower case letters (56 pieces) in bright colours. I got it because my son was alphabet obsessed, but I think it would be a good replacement for the spelling blocks which sound like something the average 5 or 6 year old might use.

There are also big foam puzzle mats in bright colours which you can get in both alphabet or numbers which are huge and allow toddlers to get their whole body involved.

Books are also a staple, but they require someone to explain them to the toddler.

I don't think there are many toys which focus on teaching specific things such as numbers and colours, that a toddler would pick up and play with for any extended amount of time. And most toddlers probably would not want to spend much time learning those sorts of things either. Time spent learning colours, shapes and letters, that sort of purely academic thing would require an adult to be there.

But I think most toys have educational value, as long as you focus on providing a range of different toys e.g. music toys, ride on toy, books, a tea set, lego, dolls and crayons.

Kid friendly yard tips?

Megan

I am looking to make my yard more fun for the little ones. Any suggestions that aren't too expensive to making it more fun? We have a large back yard that is fenced in and safe for kids. We have some nice trees so it stays cool. I have hung swings but would like more. I want it to be fun for ages 1-5. Any ideas?

Answer
Kids are always in my backyard from newborns up to age 10. We have a big swingset but it is the things that you don't expect the spend the most time with.

Get a big box like a plastic deck box that is used to store cushions but make it a toy box. Stock it with balls, bubbles, wands, jump ropes, bats, tees, etc. Stuff that you can get from the dollar store. Also have a digging spot - not necessarily a sandbox, it can just be a spot in the yard of dirt or in our case, we have gravel under our deck that is a raised deck. We keep shovels and toy trucks under there and they spend hours in their hide out.

I sometimes give the kids ideas to do like hey, why don't you set up an obstacle course? Then they use all the stuff over again in a new way.

But truly, the most fun they have is when some of the parents join int. That always makes for a good time.

Discovery Toys- 1,2,3, Go! - need directions?

Mary

I bought this board game called 1,2,3 Go! by Discovery Toys at a garage sale and the directions are missing. Does anyone have a copy or just a bried explanation?

Answer
I found It!
1,2,3 GO! by Discovery Toys is a wonderful, easy board game that is a perfect tool for teaching beginning math concepts to young children, children with special needs/learning disabilities, or children that simply find math to be especially challenging.

Since 1,2,3 GO! is recommended for ages 3 and up, it is a great choice for parents who want to introduce the concept of playing board games to a young child. Its simple "rules" are very easy to grasp, and you can play 2-3 rounds of the game in less than 10 minutes, so it is wonderful for young children and their limited attention spans! Of course, if your kids are anything like mine, they will not find 1,2,3 GO! to be tiresome at all; we play this game over and over and they never get tired of it!

1,2,3 GO! is a game for two players and consists of a 11 by 9 inch red plastic playing board. The inner part of the board contains a shallow well (about 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches) that can be used for throwing the dice into when playing the game, and for storing the game pieces when the game is not in use. On one side of the board there are two arrows raised on the plastic; each arrow indicates a starting point for each player. Following in the direction of each arrow, 19 short raised posts/pegs go around the board on each side, meeting on the opposite side at a star/sun shape raised on the plastic. This star/sun shape indicates the end of the board/game.

Each player has a set of pieces, either blue or yellow. Each set includes 9 playing pieces; three #3 pieces, three #2 pieces, and three #1 pieces. The #1 pieces are a cylinder shape piece of plastic with a hollow inside; a #2 piece is a double piece of this nature (imagine two #1s glued together) and the #3 piece is a triple piece. When placed on the board, the #1 piece covers one of the raised posts/pegs, the #2 piece covers two pegs, and the #3 piece covers three pegs.

The object of the game is to be the first player to cover all of his/her pegs and reach the end of the board.

To play, the players take turns rolling a die. (The game comes with two; one numbered 1-3 one numbered 1-6.) Imagine first playing the game with the 1-3 die. Let's say you roll a 2 and must cover two pegs. You can do this either by using a #2 playing piece, or two #1 pieces, etc. However, since the pegs do not follow a straight line, you may have to use combinations of pieces to cover your pegs. For example, if you roll a 3 and your next available pegs create a corner, you cannot use a straight #3 piece, because it does not bend; you will have to use a combination of other pieces.

As they play the game, children will absorb the addition concepts used in the game. A young child will probably not understand the abstract concept that 1+1=2, but in playing this game, he/she learns that a #1 piece plus another #1 pieces covers/equals two, etc. and begins to grasp the concept that 1+1=2!

But it doesn't stop at 1-2-3......also add 4-5-6! You will first want to introduce the game using the 1-3 numbered die, but you can soon start to use the 1-6 numbered die for higher addition concepts! Along with the items mentioned, this game includes a green plastic Adding Tray with three grooved wells, numbered 4, 5, and 6. A player/child can insert the #1, #2, and #3 playing pieces into the grooves to determine which combination of pieces fill them completely and "make" that number. So when playing the game with the 1-6 die, the child may roll a 5. If it is a young child or a child experiencing difficulty with addition, he/she may not know that 2+3=5. But he/she can use a #2 piece and a #3 piece (or combinations of other pieces) to fill up the #5 section of the tray, then transfer those pieces over to the playing board to cover 5 pegs.

When I play this game with my 4 1/2 year old son, we play the conventional way; we each start on one side of the board and cover the pegs in order. We are introducing 2+ year old Katie to this game; when we play with Katie, we play in "random" mode; roll a 3 and cover ANY (as opposed to the next available) three pegs on the board. So you may alter the suggested "rules" of the game to suit your needs and the age(s) of the children playing. Or if a younger child is playing with an older child, the older child could use the 1-6 die while the younger uses the 1-3 die, etc.

Since this game simply involves rolling the die and covering the subsequent number of pegs, the game moves very fast. We can play the game 3 times or so in 10 minutes.

The concepts of this game are very easy for young children to understand, and the "rules" are so simple, making 1,2,3 GO! and ideal way to introduce the aspects of playing board games (following rules, taking turns, etc.) to young children.

I very highly recommend this game, and I strongly suggest that the other Discovery Toys consultants that are also Epinions members reading this (hi ladies!) purchase this one to show to their customers! We lov

toys for the kids?

linda d

what's the hottest toys for infants, toddler boys and an 8 yr old girl??? What's the best that they never seem to get sick off???
my son is only 7 months but when he turns 1, whats the best toys??? I have the fisher price drop and roar dinosaur. i saw it and just had to get it

Answer
Kids like big toys it seems. Yes, big toys are more expensive but they don't seem to get thrown into the toy box after 20 minutes. One year olds like ride on toys and things like that. Toddler boys like the same thing. They also like places to hide such as forts and tents. As for an 8 year old girl--they're all different. Some like dress up and some like playing house and cooking with pretend food and some like make-up and dressing up Barbies.

toddler christmas craft idea?

Samantha

i was thinking of some cute ideas to do with my daughter when she came up to me with the toy catalogue and was showing me what she wants!
i came up with he idea of having her cut out the pictures of what she wants and sticking them on a big piece of paper creating her own "christmas wish list"
What do you think of this?
Also can you suggest any other ideas?

Answer
I think that's a great idea, but you should plan to do some other things, so she doesn't get the idea that Christmas is only about gifts for her. Also, make sure she knows that Santa doesn't always bring everything. You don't want her to be disappointed on Christmas morning because she thought she'd get everything she asked for.

You can make gifts for beloved friends and relatives with squares of unbleached muslin, a plain wooden embroidery hoop, and some fabric paint. Stretch the muslin into the hoop and paint her hand with the paint. Make a hand print. Let it dry, and you can use a fabric marker to write anything you want-like "Christmas 2010 Jennifer", or whatever. thread some narrow ribbon through the fastener on the hoop so it can be hung up on the wall or a tree. If you want to get fancy, you can sew lace on the edges of the muslin.

Remember shrinky dinks? You can buy the plastic at a craft store. Have your child help you trace a Christmas shape (cookie cutters are good for this) and then fill it in with the markers. You would cut it out and bake it. Make sure to punch a hole in it, so it can be hung.

You can cut out cardboard shapes that your child can paint. Paste a picture of your child in the middle and surround with little pine cones or other decorative shapes (buttons, scraps) that she can help you glue on. This can also be hung

Cut out the separate parts of the egg carton. Paint and pull a ribbon or pipe cleaner through to hang on a tree to look like a bell. (I still have some of these from when one of my children was little)

And even though she's little, you can have her help you mix when you're baking. She can also help decorate cookies.

Have a great time with your daughter on the holidays. Consult you library for more ideas.

Is It Safe To Leave My Toddlers Play Desk In Her Room At Night?

My daughter is nearly 2 years of age and i have recently moved her into her own room with a safety gate.
She has a desk in her room for which today she was climbing on and i have become a little worried of the idea she might use it to move to the door and climb over the safety gate.
My partner says i am over reacting; but seems this is highly possible, i am not sure that i am? Any advise please? Many thanks in advance.

Answer
teach her not to climb

Remember you can child proof your house but not the world. She needs to be taught what is safe & what isn't. So if you removed the desk from her room and other things she can't climb on then what is going to do the moment she sees thing she can climb on? CLIMB

My son was a climber. We made sure his dresser in his room was secure to the wall but that is it. When he would want to try to climb things we would firmly tell him no, tell him it wasn't safe & so on. If he did climb on something he wasn't suppose to like grandma's bar stools & he fell a bit we'd say "No climbing. You will get a boo boo." This would get the message across.

Make sure her room is safe with out let covers & making sure furniture like dressers, toy boxes & so on won't fall over on her. But that is it.

Show her how to sit in a chair for her desk. Show how it is used to color & draw. If you see her tying to climb on it again just tell her no. Showing her how to use the desk will also explain why isn't for climbing.

We also made a rule where you only climbed outside. Like it is ok to climb on the swing set or play land thing. It is ok to climb onto a see saw or jungle gym. But it is not ok to climb on things inside. Does that sense?

Teach her she isn't to climb over the gate. No touching the gate either. I'm curious at why you have a safety gate on her door?? Do you just not want her to come out of her room at naptime or bedtime? You can teach her taught. Right now all the gate is to her is road block. All she knows is she can't go past it. But does she know why? You can easily teach a child to say in their room when you want them to & yes even at 2 you can do that.

I wrote an article about "Room time" which includes that you can read it here -

Which kids camera should I get?

Katie 76

We're going on a cruise in the Bahamas soon and both kids are having birthdays right before. They've been asking for cameras and I want to get each one to take pics. They'll be 8 & 10 but never have had cameras before so I don't want to spend over a $100 on a nicer camera. Which have you had better luck with the Fisher Price or Vtech? Will these work well enough for my 10 yr old?

Answer
You can get a good deal on a lower end digital camera, for example:
http://www.officemax.com/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=21714192&cm_ven=Performics&cm_cat=www.deals2buy.com&cm_pla=Rubberband%20Logo%20120x60&cm_ite=Rubberband%20Logo%20120x60&affcode=performics&siteID=k26451&mid=&cm_ven=Performics&cm_cat=Skimbit&cm_pla=Everex%20StepNote%20ST5340T%2012.1%20Ultra%20Portable%20Notebook%20PC%22&cm_ite=Everex%20StepNote%20ST5340T%2012.1%20Ultra%20Portable%20Notebook%20PC%22&affcode=performics&siteID=k186085&mid=skim115X178
for about the same price, this would still be much better than the 'toy' cameras.

What toys are a must for a toddler on a plane?

March

If you flew with a toddler ( 18 months ), what kept your little one occupied for a while? We have a long overseas flight ahead of us.I expect he won't sit for 8 hours, but I would like to find out what are some best little toys to pack. Thank you so much for the tips!

Answer
Portable DVD player.
Stickers.
Play-dough.
Colouring books but be prepared to have to keep crouching down on to the floor to pick up the crayons.
Etch-a-sketch is handy.
Little story books and her favourite teddy.
A good idea is to wrap up little toys in gift-wrap and put them in a bag and every half hour or so let her choose one.
Bring plenty of drinks and snacks.
His little ears might hurt so make sure you have a bottle or soother or something similar for him to suck on when taking off and landing.
It can be a nightmare travelling with babies so just ignore anyone who tut tuts about his making noise. It seems like a long flight but you'll get there in the end! Good luck.

Traveling with a toddler?

Isabella's

We are going to Hawaii in 8 days and I just want some advice because our daughter has never traveled by plane. She's almost 3. The flight is only 6 hours non-stop and I'm really not TOO worried about that because she is a pretty well-behaved kid and we plan on bringing the portable DVD player and a few toys(any other tips are welcome). I know food and drinks are not allowed but 6 hours without a snack might be a problem...will they be ok with me bringing a bag of animal crackers and a juice box for her? Also, am I not allowed to pack extra snacks and such for when we get to the hotel? Or do I have to just buy those things when we arrive in Hawaii? ANY advice is welcome even if I haven't asked...I've never traveled with her before so ALL advice/tips are welcome! Thanks so much!

Answer
I fly by plane with my toddler every 3 months to visit the family that is the closest.

They WILL allow you to bring a snack and drink for them. The container has to be able to be closed. A juice box will work, though. Use a sippy cup or a thermos because they WILL open it at security to test what's inside. I always brought milk for my son when he was a little younger for the longer flights. He is 3 now and doesn't travel 6 hours regularly on the plane (every 3 months it's just 1.5 hour flights) so I don't bring it anymore. No more than 4 ounces in each container.

You can bring snacks and as many as you want. I brought an entire carry-on of wrapped food from Japan on the plane. It has to be wrapped. It can't be left overs in a container but a sandwich that'd you pick up at 711 that's in plastic and anything else wrapped in plastic.

Don't stop at McDonalds and get a cheeseburger, because that's not the wrapped I'm talking about and you will have to throw it away.

You no longer have to take her shoes off in security so don't worry about that but make sure you are aware of everything you do need to put on the belt. Make your life as easy as possible.

christmas questions (for France)?

Anna Baby(

ok so my French teacher says that people in France
-they plant their trees in their backyard after using them for Christmas.
-they put out shoes instead of stockings.

I'm not trying to prove her wrong. Just wanting to see if she is correct.
thanks!
-Marie-Christine. (my french name.)

Answer
I don't know the answer to the planting of the Christmas tree, except that apt. dwellers probably just toss the trees. Though gifts are given in France, it is on a much smaller scale that in the US and many times, it's mom and dad buying toys for the kids. The presents are wrapped up in Christmas paper and placed under the tree and opened on Christmas a.m. French ppl also tend to send Christmas cards only to close friends and relatives. The cards are usually sold individually and seldom seen are those big boxes of cards like in the US and Britain. Christmas dessert is usually not pudding (like in the UK) or pumpkin pie (US)-- rather a delicious yule log cake often filled with truffle like or hazelnut filling and with whipped cream or frosting on the outside. Reindeer and/or elf figures are often placed on top of the cake. I think that the putting out of shoes is more associated with St. Nicholas Day rather than Christmas Day.

Outdoor toys for kids?

Emily

I have some nephews that NEVER go outside. They live in an apartment with a small yard but their mother doesn't take them out. What can I get them for Xmas that will get them to stop worshipping the TV? They are 4,5, and 7 years old

Answer
Best outside toy in the world is a cardboard box. Yes, a furniture or washer and dryer box , refrigerator etc. All furniture stores will throw these out everyday. Grab a box of cheap crayons or markers. and there ya go. Hours and hours and hours of fun.

What's better than a huge box? Two huge boxes!

They can pretend it's a ufo , spaceship, train, clubhouse, castle , fort, a cave , etc. The possibilities are endless and it's free, aside from the crayons.

It is My Baby Cousin Sophia's 1st b-day on Saturday. Any Gift Ideas? Clothes are probably something that you would think of with common Sense..But Still Do You Know if there are Any really little kid games or toys out?..She Loves Toys..Such as Stuffed animals(When they sing or talk) or anything that she can play with that makes noise.

Answer
Books, books, and more books! I cannot emphasize enough how important I think it is that you take my advice to heart. In a world of so many negative influences, I beg you to consider buying your cousin something other than toys. Besides, at her age almost anything can be a toy. In my opinion you can't have enough books. I firmly believe that if you buy her a toy you'll be wasting your money on something she will outgrow in months if not years or tire of in weeks if not days (after all, your cousin is turning one). I heartily advise you to invest your money in something that (when used daily) can benefit your cousin for the rest of her life. I recognize you're probably looking for toy ideas and that's why you posted your question in this forum, but think about the impact books can have on your dear cousin's life. Think of the special opportunity you have to influence her early learning and foster her emergent reading skills. Imagine yourself and her parents reading to her (at all times, not just bedtime) and the joyful moments you all can have as a family, building the bonds of love and trust and establishing a foundation for her future. A book can be an everlasting gift and you can inscribe a special message within it, creating a lasting memory for your cousin and her parents. I still have books that my aunt and uncle gave me when I was a child, and when I reread these books as an adult I loved rediscovering the inscriptions they wrote inside. The single best way to help a child become a reader (for life) is to read to her. You can help her get an early start by providing her with great children's literature. While it's clearly her parent's responsibility to help her become a reader, they may not encourage this behavior enough. Here's where you can make a huge difference. By establishing that you value reading and books you're encouraging her to value the same. At this age in particular, I advise you to look for books that rhyme or have a rhythmic pattern. Pop-up books, board books, and lift the flap books are especially attractive to one-year-old children (I've included some below). There are thousands of books that you might choose for her, but let me recommend a few:

"The Long-Nosed Pig" by Keith Faulkner; ill. by Jonathan Lambert

"The Wide-Mouthed Frog" by Keith Faulkner; ill. by Jonathan Lambert

"Shark in the Park" by Nick Sharrat

"Bark, George" by Jules Feiffer

"T is for Terrible" by Peter McCarty

"Some Dogs Do" by Jez Alborough

"Duck in the Truck" by Jez Alborough

"Hug" by Jez Alborough

"Where's My Teddy?" by Jez Alborough

"Louella Mae, She's Run Away" by Karen Beaumont Alarcón; ill. by Rosanne Litzinger

"The Wolf's Chicken Stew" by Keiko Kasza

"Knuffle Bunny" by Mo Willems

"Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" by Mo Willems

"Sheep in a Jeep" by Nancy Shaw; ill. by Margot Apple

"Caps for Sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina

"Freight Train" by Donald Crews

"Fish Eyes: A Book You Can Count On" by Lois Ehlert (check out the many other wonderful titles she's written)

"Harold and the Purple Crayon" by Crockett Johnson

"Madeline" by Ludwig Bemelmans

"Millions of Cats" by Wanda Gag

"How Loud Is a Lion?" by Stella Blackstone; ill. by Clare Beaton

"The Napping House" by Audrey Wood; ill. by Don Wood

"Rosie's Walk" by Pat Hutchins

"Where's Spot?" by Eric Hill

"The Very Busy Spider" by Eric Carle

"The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle

"Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" by Bill Martin Jr. & John Archambault; ill. by Lois Ehlert

"Clickety Clack" by Robert & Amy Spence; ill. by Margaret Spengler (Wonderfully rhythmic!)

"Jamberry" by Bruce Degen

"One Red Dot" by David A. Carter

"Blue 2" by David A. Carter

"Arrowville" by Geefwee Bodoe

"Duck on a Bike" by David Shannon

"No, David!" by David Shannon (he's written several other books starring David)

"How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?" by Jany Yolen; ill. by Mark Teague

"How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon?" by Jany Yolen; ill. by Mark Teague

"How Does a Dinosaur Eat His Food?" by Jany Yolen; ill. by Mark Teague

"Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak

"Mockingbird" by Allan Ahlberg

"The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds

"Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs!" by Sandra Boynton (you can't go wrong with this author--she's written scores of books for tots)

"Banana Moon" by Janet Marshall

I've read the above stories scores of times to varied audiences with great success. Click on my profile and e-mail me. I would be happy to correspond with you and make further suggestions. I'd encourage you to check out the above titles from your local library before you buy any books. While you're there, talk to the children's librarians and ask them for their recommendations, too. I'd also suggest you to find a copy of Jim Trelease's "The Read Aloud Handbook" (see link below). It's an invaluable resource for parents, teachers and thoughtful relatives. Another good source of information is "Parent's Guide to the Best Books for Children," published by The New York Times and edited by Eden Ross Lipson.

Toddler Behavior, how can I keep the peace?

Amanda A

I am the mom of two children, ages 2 and 3. It seems like here lately the only thing they want to do is fuss, fight, and scream at each other. I am so confused I don't know what to do, I make them stand in the Corner and they still continue five minutes later. Please help, with suggestions and advice experienced mothers, fathers, and teachers anyone who can give real advice not snobby answers!

Answer
Try setting them activities that make them work together, things like washing garden toys or painting something. You could also try introducing hobbies to them that they have to help each other with, such as football or some other sport. This might also tire them out and they'll be too tired to fight :P

What are toddlers "into" these days (in the UK)?

Hey everyone

I'm 22 and about to start full time work experience as a teaching assistant in a nursery class and have just realised how clueless I am! I love children, but have no siblings or younger cousins and at the moment the only experience I have at home is with 11-13 year olds (boyfriend's little brother and his friends)

So my question is what do 3-4 year old children like these days? More specifically what TV programs, toys, books, films, (magazines even) etc are targeted at children this age? I know which programs and cartoons I liked as a child but I'm pretty sure times have moved on...I'd really like to know in case they start talking to me about things they like and watch and do...

Any other advice and help also welcome :) Thank you!

Maybe it's something in the water, maybe malnutrition, or maybe it's just better medicine as time goes on meaning well look younger for our whole lives and therefore live longer :)

what will be the hottest 4th grader items 2013?

Answer
This Q was listed under TOYS so I'm guessing you're looking for an answer regarding toys, right? So I would definately say Nintendo 3DS!!! Cell phone, however I don't think kids should have them until high school. Bike, quad, rollerskates etc.

Popular Christmas Gifts/Toys for Kids this year?

Fat

What will be the popular toys this year that every kid will want. I am really looking for some ideas for something besides electronics.

Answer
Some of the biggest toys for this holiday season will be Webkinz, stuffed toys that come with a code for kids to log on to a Web site and play with their pet in an interactive world; Pleo, a baby dinosaur robot similar to a Furby; Transformers Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet, which makes kidsâ voices sound like a robot; PlajaPets, stuffed animals with interchangeable heads and tails; Smart Cycle, a plug-and-play interactive learning toy for tots; Chat Diva Barbie, which talks into a cell phone; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix video games and toys; T.M.X. Ernie and Cookie Monster dolls; and anything and everything from the Disney hits High School musical, Cheetah Girls and Hannah Montana.

What are the most popular kids toys for the past five years?

kelbo4424

This could be toys and/or games

Answer
Video games, Tickle me Elmo (I want one for Christmas, and I'm 14), Bratz dolls/Barbies, I can't think of anything else, I've been out of the little kid market thing for awhile now. What about transformers, do they still make those?
